Google added "WNBA" to their dictionary of terms? I'm not sure what that shows.

Very interesting. When I use google.com.au:

    Hillary Clinton criminal prosecution
    Hillary Clinton criminal video
    Hillary Clinton crisis
    Hillary Clinton crime reform

    switch to google.com:
    Hillary Clinton crime reform
    Hillary Clinton crisis
    Hillary Clinton crime bill 1994

Aussies care more about her possible criminal prosecution? You don't need report when you can try it yourself.

Location, your personal search history, popularity of the terms in your location all play a role in what comes up.

Exactly. People need to learn how this stuff works.

When I tried it, I got something totally different than the other examples here, and it will change over the day, based on other searches in my area or this nation, or even based on my own interim searches (if I don't get the hell offline).

If people are really interested, and if they *really* think there is a true conspiracy, try this.

search Merkel at google.de and search Merkel at google.com.
Oh my! Completely different! What are they trying to hide from Germans?
(In America, you get Merkel cell carcinoma as first hit, or I did. LOL, and as I typed her name, Google wanted to know if I was looking for a merkin!)

This game is pretty fun actually.

Facts that show how a search engine works? please read the last few posts. There is an algorithm at work, and it's area dependent.

    Here:

Google.com.au, searching for George W Bush

    quotes
    net worth
    paintings

Google.com, searching for George W Bush

    net worth
    paintings
    wife

So google is hiding his quotes from America!!! Feeding us nice Laura to hide his quotes! Um, no, the algorithm sifts different data in America and Australia. (shrug)

I typed 'Hillary In' and got Hillary indictment as my top hits/search filler.

Friend in Minnesota typed in 'Hillary in' and got Hillary in Minnesota. So there's that.

"Hillary in"....yields "Hillary indictment" for me (and links to brietbart and other not so Hillary friendly sites).

"Hillary ra"...yields "Hillary Racist" for me
"Hillary soc"...yields "Hillary socialist" for me. (not sure Sanders would be insulted by the term?).

Plus this is just the autocomplete, not the search itself.

So the Google guy per dc rock's buzzfeed article seems to be on the level? Are you guys getting different results?

Encouraging bad 'journalism' with 12m hits and thousands of shares doesn't speak well for us.
