So what does that make the club?

28-24 against all other teams in the MLB.

    But 1-9 against the Rangers?

Wrong, he was good as a starter, only one bad game.

For some reason Hinch does not see Davenski is better than 2 of our starter RIGHT NOW.

They aren't much better. They just execute better at the end of games.

We went 1-3 with a -2 run differential in those four games. Doesn't get much closer than that.

just win 2 out of 3 vs tampa and this series is forgotten. has julia reported anything on correa?

fatty and hodor continue to pump their numbers against us. back them off the plate.

probably would've been better off losing yesterday.

it takes so little to engender goodwill among this regime and keep things status quo for weeks+.

maybe a sweep would've forced some moves.

Like I heard on the radio the other day, the Astros are just good enough to lose against the Rangers. If Astros were close to the Rangers this overall series wouldn't be so lopsided with them. Until the Astros become a more balanced team and win more games and not be just "competitive" within the games against their in-division rival, imo they are not close to contending for this division.

The Rangers are 9 games better than the Astros... that's pretty much all that needs to be looked at.

Over a minuscule 4 game sample, anything can happen. Had the Astros swept it, they'd still be 3 games back... and still need to execute in their remaining games to eventually overtake them.

You are what you are after 162 games. Yes, these games could have gone either way. A split of the series would have had the Astros no closer to over-taking the Rangers, but would also have them being "competitive" within the games themselves.

Yeah all this series did for me is to show how far away still the Astros are from contending for this division. People are thankful the Astros were able to get at least just 1 game this series. Reminds me of the rebuilding years when it comes to playing the Rangers. Like I said at the beginning of the series, until the Astros can show they can actually win against the Rangers more consistently, they can't be taken seriously. If this is a case of mental block against the Rangers, that's very concerning too.

Yup, 1 out of 4 is exactly what I thought they'd get. The good news is they don't have to face them again until September.

Instead of 11 games back... we are 9 with a month to go before all-star break.

There is time to shrink the lead again.

Get it below 5 gb and get back to .500.

Perfect situation to give Correa a bit of an extended break. Let him rest and hope he comes back ready to rock and roll.

I understand it's still early but the main reason why the RAngers were able to overtake the Astros last year was because they won a vast majority of the head to head. Hard to make up real ground when you suck in the head to head.

But they had their sizable deficit by losing a lot of the head-to-head early too.

There's still 9 games left with them... absolutely nothing to suggest that things will be different the next time these teams play each other... but a similar turn-a-bout to what happened to the Astros last year is still technically possible.

The only encouraging (or discouraging) aspect was that for the first time in the last 4 H-2-H series, they didn't have a laugher game that had them thoroughly flogged.

Hey, I guess you have to find some glimmer of hope to keep interest. I feel changes need to be made before this team can legitimately be taken serious though.

Still would like someone with positional flexibility to come up with White going down. White is a mediocre 1B who has less than a .600 OPS since April 15th.

Of course.... starting with improvements in the lineup (no sub or close to .200 hitters), and the pitching rotation (starters who fail to be able to put up consecutive quality starts with ERA's above 5 should be on a shorter leash).
