The GOP will never learn from its mistakes because the idea pulling the strings behind the party want a return to the George W Bush days.
[Correctional Post] Hillary got more of the popular vote and more of the delegates (both more super and more regular). Some rigged system. It's all fluff. They will ultimately vote Clinton. The same way I voted Clinton in 1992. I was a Tsongas fan and hated the way Clinton won the primaries, so I switched to Parot, and when it became clear the choice was Bush vs. Clinton, it was much easier to vote for Clinton. This is a true statement. All those scientists are mostly democrats - that explains why science is stupid and conservatives gut feelings about an array of subjects is so much better than the scientific method. This is how we know climate change isn't real because oil men are smarter than scientists, we know the world is only 6k years old because preachers are definitely smarter than geologists and paleontologists, and farm boy jocks are clearly smarter than scientists because who ends up piloting the rockets and shuttles and super jets? It ain't scientists - nope nope nope they aren't smart enough to operate that equipment. All they know how to do is calculate tips. Heck most of their rockets they launch into space have problems anyway. They don't come up with any innovations or new drugs or innovations, nope nope nope - that the job creators like Trump. We know scientists are stupid because only 6% of them identify as Republican. So yeah, this is clearly true that there are no intelligent Dems.
Excellent post. I'm glad you took the time to write this. This all started because I asked a question of another poster and you felt it necessary to write a post telling me to that you weren't going to answer my question and I should go look it up. I didn't ask you any questions so I'm not really sure why you felt the need to post that. Now here we are three posts later and you still haven't added any value to the thread. The comment about post count padding was obviously silly because it looks like to me you don't really know the difference between adding to the conversation(or argument as the case may be) and just posting noise... Over 38,000 excellent posts and counting.
Right now, the GOP primary is done. When Cruz (& Kasich) finally dropped out, Trump got a bump in the polls despite many voters still not being all that happy with him. Hillary still got Bernie to deal with for now. I suspect that when this finally ends (whether it happens today or at the convention), Hillary will get a similar bump in the opinion polls as the Democratic-leaning voters unite. The thing about Trump, though... I am suspecting that this Judge Curiel thing is gonna hurt him. It may not have been reflected in the polls quite yet-- information takes time to spread, not every voter follows the campaign news all that closely-- but we will likely see the numbers change pretty soon. Also, one thing that may not be reflected in the opinion polls due to the math modeling that they use for "likely voters" is that this Judge Curiel news is likely to drive Latino turnout in the general election, particularly turnout among Latino voters who may not be characterized as "likely voters" since they didn't vote regularly or at all in prior elections . Perhaps more important than this specific instance, even, is the fact that Trump is showing no sign of moderating or becoming more disciplined with his words. He's not going to stop picking fights and giving his opponent ammunition. This stuff may not hurt him in a GOP primary, but it will have an impact in the general election.
This is a crazy election. From the Republicans we have a candidate who is on trial for fraud, made donations to certain people in certain states and had their states drop out of the fraud case. He also has pledged that his foreign policy would be ordering U.S. troops and defense service personnel to commit war crimes. He's on record with a huge number of lies just during this primary season. He recently made bigoted/racist comments about a sitting Federal judge, and now has Republicans who endorsed him withdrawing their endorsements. From the Democrats we have a candidate who was shown to have lied about not following state department rules and possibly putting state secrets in jeopardy. She's also the first woman ever nominated from one of the two major parties, has a ton of experience in government, and is only offers a very small change in terms of policy from what we've seen before. As someone who will most likely vote for a third party or write-in candidate, it looks like had the GOP nominated anyone else other than Trump, they would have had a decent chance at possibly taking back the white house. They still might, because nobody knows the future. But Trump is the one candidate that makes it easy for Hillary to go on the offensive as she's started doing. She bludgeoned Trump on foreign policy using his own words on Thursday. Trump is so ethically challenged that his attacks on Hillary's ethics don't offer a better alternative by default. Trump has made racist/bigoted comments, and turned off people in his own party. Hillary just letting that happen, is an added bonus in a general election. I guess it's what the country deserves since who they voted for, but in a way it's too bad. I'd like to think we deserve better.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised with President Clinton, FB. Wait and see. As for it being a crazy election, man, is it ever!
Reality TV Americans can only blame themselves. We deserve Hilary vs Donald. A nation of selfish, patriotic, idiots. The greatest american eras are over, we'll only read about them now.
So, as of today, the official Republican Web Page did not mention Trump. At all. Who is going to be his running mate? How far down the list must he go? Trump says he doesn't need to raise money because he gets free air time. Awesome. Repubs up and down the ballot are about to get crushed by the Dem ground game. It would be funny if he wasn't one of two people on the planet with a chance to become the next President.
I wonder if this is going to be one of the lowest voter turnouts for a general election in a while. Not many are exited by either of the prospects. Then again not many were exited about Obama vs Romney.
? This is going to be a high turnout year, not because people want to vote for someone in particular...but because they want to vote against someone. Hispanics are normally low turnout but you can bet your ass they will be out in groves.
[Educational Post] I doubt the Hispanics will be out in groves or out in droves this election cycle, because historically they vote at very low rates. I'm actually embarrassed by this. And this year, they plan to check voters for outstanding warrants, unpaid traffic tickets, and legal citizenship documentation. This could have the effect of suppressing some votes.
Could? Good post TJ, but you have to realize the party you support is doing everything possible to drive down the votes among minorities.
I should let him speak for himself, or maybe you're cracking wise, but here is his statement with a useful comma. "when a person is targeting you, self preservation comes into play."
