My favorite is what we call the "Jersey Sweep".

Start on the rightmost lane, and go to the leftmost lane in one motion with no blinkers. Bonus points on a crowded highway.

    Annoys me too.

Though for the jerks that try to get from 59 to 610...45-610. etc etc ..ignores the miles of cars backed up during rush hour than signals to get to the front of the line just at the exit that you know was coming than I don't care if you're signaling or not im trying my hardest not to let you in... flick me off I dont care

this might bother me the most.

when you honk at someone for driving like a moron and they react as if YOU'RE the ******* on the road.

i was on a local street at a 4 way stop sign turning left. an old lady was literally in the northbound lane facing south, blocking the lane, and looking up into her mirror. I had to slowly maneuver around her giving her the stinkeye.

she didn't even notice me. so from the parking lane, I stopped, rolled down the window and politely told her- "you know you're in the wrong lane?"- more out of concern that she didn't even realize her mistake.

she snaps at me "LIKE I DON'T KNOW THAT!"

and my reply "SO MOVE THE ***** OUT OF THE WAY" didn't seem to phase her.

    LA driver here.

I almost made this thread but then I realized it has probably been brought up.

What do you know...the EXACT same reason I wanted to make this thread pops up regarding the EXACT location.

Seriously. I feel like I could end up on the news with all these jackasses that do this!

I guess this is along those lines.

I hate hate hate it that people think just because you turn on your signal doesn't give you the right to just get into my lane space WHEN I'M STILL IN THAT SPACE. And if I don't hit the brakes it'll result in an accident and when you honk they have the nerve to get mad.:mad::mad:

People that think they can -- no pun intended -- flip on and off with turn signals are the worst.

They think that if they don't use them when (they think) nobody is around or nobody needs to know (slow streets, parking lots) that once it comes back to being on a highway or busy streets they'll immediately get right back into the habit of using blinkers. But they don't, and they're a-holes.

Use your damn blinker, all the time, wherever you are, regardless of your surroundings. Even if you think nobody is around. It's a good habit and it makes you a better driver overall, and also in an emergency situation where you have to use muscle memory to hit the lever in a millisecond.

I always use my turn signals.

but today....... this lady was driving 20 mph and I couldn't pass her up for 2 minutes, so when I finally had a chance, I sped up to 30 - cut her off and used NO TURN SIGNAL.

i wish police would actually enforce this. Was in a wreck years ago on the highway that could have been really bad but got lucky. All of it was caused by a guy who pulled into my lane with no turn signal causing me to hit the car on the other sie of me. He just kept driving. Cop said I should have just let him hit me.

    That's what I've always wondered.

For my example that I put, someone signals but I'm in the space they're changing lane into. If they hit me its their fault correct? Because there's been one occasion where someone does that and I'm forced to do a quick lane change onto the next lane and I've been lucky enough not to hit anyone. But 99% of the time when that happens I slow down/hit my brakes.

So.. Anyway.. I use blinkers all the time in Houston, if they speed up to rear-end me, more power to them :) certainly easier in my truck vs sedan (when people attempt the speed up)...

I prefer the blinker and then a nice wave to the driver for letting me in (or trying to speed up...) and still letting me in. Lol

When I say easier in a truck... I just mean people aren't too intimidating and wanting to play block out or whatever. I then like to slow down the traffic and let everyone else in, you know really impede the traffic, lol I'm just messing, left is for passing, hahha

On the blinker side, I use mine all the time.

My fiancé asks me why I do it when it's an empty road in our neighborhood and I tell her it's just habit. I literally don't even have to think about it.

Why would I get in another lane in front of someone without letting them know I'm getting in? We're not mind readers.

For some people, driving is the most dangerous thing you'll ever do. Might as well let others know what you're doing.

Also, if I see someone driving and approaching faster than me, I'm not going to get in their lane if there's space between until they pass. I'm forcing them to slow down or brake. I feel like driving isn't that hard but people just tend to be idiots and I think I can either be calm about it or stoop to their level and drive like a maniac.

I by no means am a slow driver either. I guess I'm just overly courteous.

The number of parents that don't use turn signals when turning into the parking lot at my daughter's elementary school (just outside Sacramento) is mind blowing. Of course, during drop off their is a ton of traffic, cars trying to pull out of the lot, kids walking to school, etc. It seriously makes me homicidal.

I make it a points to always use my turn signals. Sometimes I even purposely leave the blinkers on for a few minutes even after I've made my turn.

You have to begin the lane change and use your blinker simultaneously so they don't have a chance to speed up.

I don't care about lane change signaling, but when people don't signal for a right or left turn it infuriates me.

Agreed. I find it much easier to change lanes on the freeways in Houston than on the Freeways in Dallas.

More annoying and dangerous... drivers who merge onto the freeway at 30 mph or treat the merge as a stop sign.

Driving to Florida this past Spring Break, I noticed that people from Texas & Louisianna routinely use the left hand lane to drive faster and pass. People from Alabama and Mississippi will camp in the left hand lane and won't budge for anyone. Drove me insane.
