Yep, now that you say this i kinda remember something about this...

Same here, to be honest he played a great season overall, and if you look at the stats he also blocked 2 shots per game, but again, he's old and always been slow and bad on defense so...i would take him with a reasonable contract if other big names are not available. Anyway i think he'll sign with the Spurs, it just makes too much sense to not happen, but well, you never know.

Whether they got along or not, they didn't exactly mesh amazingly on the court. There were so many issues involved - Kobe, Dwight, that you couldn't exactly say it was all the D'Antoni/MDA relationship... but just looking at how MDA teams run offensively, it doesn't fit perfectly.

Gasol has a lot of skill-sets MDA (or any coach) would like. Mid range jumper, can rebound and outlet pass, size to defend.

But, especially at this age, he isn't going to be that springy, up and down the court big that might also create with the dribble.

Of course, its not like bigs that "fit the mold" grow on trees.

Besides the obvious of Whiteside, and Horford (who game wise might have some of the same "issues" that Gasol does, their games are pretty similar) I can see them targeting guys like Ian Mahimi, Jared Sullinger (restricted, but the guy is a rebounding machine... if he could get his 3 point % up to 35% he'd be really good), Ryan Andersen (offense only)

I read somewhere that Dwight might opt-in. If he does, then send him to Milwaukee?

    Monroe and Carter-Williams?

    Say no to Kevin Love.

    The PF who can't:
    - Play other positions (C and/or SF) on either end
    - Protect the paint on D
    - Create his own shot on O

...is a liability in today's game, period.

100% agree. Look at how GSW is mercilessly exposing his game on both ends.

Love would be our Amare Stat!!! Howard sign and Trade for Love. Man love in this system would work. Dwight would work nicely with lebron too. But i can see lebron blocking dwight from coming because of dwights rep and personality

Sign Horford at $20 mill per
Love for Dwight sign and trade.
Leaves us one more max or enough money for quality bench upgrades
Can possibly have a roster of

    C Horford/Capela
    PF Love/Dmo/beas/harrell
    SF Ariza/KJ/Dekker
    SG Harden/Brewer
    PG Bev/Seth Curry/Jet

What are you using to get these results? I keep seeing this type of post and am curious.

at this point, seeing what we've seen from Love, would anyone here still want to take Love at MAX contract value versus a Ryan Anderson at a lesser salary?

Probably not. Love isn't a great defender against quick athletic teams like GSW (not Ryno bad - who is flat out bad vs. anyone) and his primary offensive strength as a secondary option (shooting 3's) negates his other elite skill (rebounding), and that mish mash of talents is tough to integrate. All that would be palatable if he weren't a max contract.

I wonder if we can steal Nikola Pekovic from the wolves? They have Towns and don't really need him. By steal I mean they almost gift him to us.

Nikola Pekovic would be no "gift".

More like a 500 pound millstone tied to our ankles right before we get pushed off the side of the ship into the deep fathomless ocean.

Pekovic is done, bad ankle injury, has been out like what? Two years? He still has 3 years in his contract...just stay away.

    With the 5th pick?

    Saw
    Bev and Ariza
    For
    Pek and 5

Not sure I would... If and only if I could trade 5 down turning into multiple picks --> all of Boston's after their 3rd pick --> I would.
Pek is paid well and not healthy.
