Hinch had no right throwing Dallas out there to start the 8th. Then surely you'd think he'd at least pull him after the single.... But no. My word this team sucks enough against Texas, they don't need help from our manager. So not only does that ruin a great outing from Dallas, it ruins any momentum he had going into his next start. Not great fielding Vsl....
Regardless of who is at fault, there was literally no reason for Keuchel to be out there in the 8th. None.
Well, guys, forget about this sorry ass team (vs the Rangers), USA 4 Costa Rica 0, that is greaaaaaat. Now, beat Uruguay on Saturday, Goooo USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This team needs real leadership and better coaching. Hinch shouldn't be seen as the long term answer. I have no confidence with him leading this team. None.
I've been saying that on Hinch for a long time now, even if my "beloved pest" hates to hear, Hinch is just not good enough for a team competing for a World Series. He is good handling young guys, and good communicator, but, not good with moves on rotation, bullpen, lineups, ect. He was bad in Arizona, and bad in Houston. What a pity we don't have a manager like Maddon.
You ain't gotta go back that far. Look at the local football team vs. the Colts. Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Dan Orlovsky/Curtis Painter, doesn't matter.
I think Hinch is a good coach overall. This is the first overt mistake I've seen him make (and called him out for). Not that I want him hired, just spitballing: Ausmus return to Houston would be quite the story...
Seriously what is it w houston teams and their biggest rivals? When was the last time we consistently owned - hell - were simply consistently competitive against our biggest rivals??
Will Harris or Dallas facing a lineup for the fourth time after throwing 100 pitches already.... Just wow.
