I wasn't a fan of how trailer park boy played the ball either. It was either going out or off the wall - I felt he should have played the wall and limited damage. I never saw a legit chance at catching it. Maybe that's a bit of revisionist history though. Always easy to second guess a ball that gets away like that.
Lewis had 2 errors in one inning, with Springer and Altuve hitting with bases loaded and they did not score.
Then why the Fu*k were you just asking for him to be the closer? I honestly do not think you are an Astros fan in any way, shape or form. You are simply a troll, and i'll give you credit, you are the best troll i've seen not just here on CF, but you are the best troll i've ever seen Sure wish you would go away, but too many people like me continue to respond to your crap for that to happen
Familia, 18-18 in saves, tied for the MLB lead, 1.32 whip AJ Ramos, 18-18 in saves, tied for MLB lead, 1.21 whip Papelbon, 15-17 in saves, 1.37 whip McGee, 14-15 in saves, 1.50 whip (Coors Effect) Ryan Madson, 12-14 in saves, 1.27 whip Brad Ziegler, 11-11 in saves, 1.50 whip Rosenthal, 10-11 in saves, 1.68 whip So yea, you are a smart one solely judging relievers on whip #castrated-jero #besttrollofalltime
Many also act as if the other team has nothing to do with the negative results... that everything starts/ends with the Astros players/managers and their faults. Specifically in the Odor AB... he whiffed badly on a live 97 mph outside fastball, then took the same 97mph outside pitch deep for an opposite field double. He had been attempting to pull pitches all night to RF... thus the way the pitch sequence went. I hate Odor and his antics... even more so since the sucker-punch... but sometimes the other players do make plays, and he capitalized on a great adjustment. Was a sucky team loss, no doubt... nobody is blameless, but nobody gets all the blame either.
I blame this poster the most - http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=275377 He's the real reason the Astros lost Spoiler Just kidding Spoiler of course Spoiler or am I? Spoiler Ok seriously I am kidding Spoiler nothing to see here
I may have deleted some of what you wrote, but basically the above was your point, right? Even when you admit you were wrong you manage to do it in a way that annoys people.
agree 100% - total misplay by rasmus. while you appreciate the effort in him thinking he could catch that ball it sailed several feet above his, i wanna say at least 7-10'. if he plays the careen off the wall he probably holds the runner third and giles lives to fight another out. again - just frustrating mental lapses.
This is sort of the fundamental problem. You think a lot of things and word vomit them out without looking at actual facts or numbers. You're almost always wrong. And yet you do it again and again and never seem to learn.
You "thought" they should sign Morneau until you learned he had surgery 6 months ago and still hasn't swung a bat. You "thought" the game was over last night after the first 2 Rangers reached base. I could go on and on....Perhaps you should just quit thinking.
No one said that. If, as a reliever, in a pressure-packed situation against their best hitters, you throw an inning-ending pitch and your defense muffs an otherwise routine double play... that's a tough pill to swallow. He should swallow it - that's his job. But of all the issues, mistakes, etc. that Giles has made this year, last night, specifically, seems like a weird one to rip him for.
I don't know, if only we had a spark plug, Ya know a guy that you could bring in and the team responds to and wins? It's almost as if we play some guys that drag the team down rather than lift them up. If only I could put my finger on it.
It would have been a big win if our pen could have hold our lead after we rally back against them. I really need to look for a new closer who will give us a better chance than what Giles have given us this season.
- Gonzalez hit into the double play that killed the 1st-and-3rd, 1 out rally in the 2nd - Springer hit into the double play that killed the 1st-and-3rd, 1 out rally in the 4th - Springer and Altuve popped out with the bases loaded, 1 out in the 6th - Feliz coughed up the first lead in the 7th (to Odor, no less) - Correa botched a routine, inning-ending double play in the 9th - Our top five hitters (minus Altuve) were a combined 1-18 But sure as rain, if the Astros lose: GOMEZ! GILES! It's sort of comical - but also, frankly, a little sad how Pavlovian fans are. I wish they had a thirst to be better fans rather than mindlessly vomiting sports radio talking points.
Your son will play tonight vs the lefty Hopefully he can get that average above .200 at some point #superstarthatcanthitrhp
Giles hasn't been the closer all year. Ironically, if Giles was the "official" closer, Harris would have been pitching the 9th.
I had a bad feeling about that AB after he called for time. He seemed to be trying to troll Giles with how demonstrative he was with calling for time. Giles didn't move off the mound nor off his spot, he stayed locked in on Odor until he was ready to hit again. I just knew he was thinking, "I'm going to blow this one by you again as punishment" and obviously Odor knew it was coming too. Immediately after I was b****ing that Giles should have walked off and composed himself, but hindsight is 20/20.
Well then we definitely need to add Hoyt, Reed, Justin Morneau, and Carlos Delgado since the team sucks so bad.
