Please tell me what kind of career he had outside of YouTube? That's how he really got known. He was a bouncer in p*rn videos. Also someone post his last fight. Probably the most lame MMA fight of all time.

his last fight drew 2.3M viewers. regardless how it turned out, how many mma fighters can pull those kind of numbers? his ultimate fighter season was UFC's highest rated season ever. kimbo probably did more to popularize the sport than GSP did. mma fans should be thanking him for all the exposure he has given the sport.
Didn't realize this but some of the ratings probably had to do with Rampage and Rashad being the coaches. Also, if it was the highest rated season, one would think some of it might have to do with heavyweights being the weight class for the season(as well as a draw in Kimbo) but the UFC haven't had a TUF heavyweight season(in the USA) since.
Yep. Kimbo was my icon growing up. I tried listening to prince a few weeks ago and his music is awful.
Kimbo was a drugged up muscle bound guy that would get into fights on YouTube in people's backyards for money. His online notoriety in doing that gave him a career in MMA. He's pretty much one of those guys all those stupid teenage kids, future winners all of 'em, fighting in streets with cell phone cameras recording are mimicking. He was a stand out individual and a credit to humanity, a real YouTube role model.
Does it really matter how he became famous or well known? Who cares if he got his popularity through YouTube...does that mean it doesnt matter? Fact of the matter is that millions upon millions of people watched this dude go from having absolutely nothing...to doing something that gave him a chance to provide a life for his family.
