Are you kidding me? Draymond vs some random Euro curmudgeon would be hilarious and must-see-tv. Tempers are guaranteed to flare

In 2004 Olympics, a team made up of Iverson, Melo, Lebron, Wade, Marion, Stoudemare, Duncan etc got the bronze

I would love to watch Draymond temper to be out of control and Adam Silver cannot protect him in international competition

Curry pulling out is kind of disappointing. I hope he doesn't feel the times he represented the USA is equivalent of representing the USA in the Olympics. This irks me more than it should. I don't even like him as a player but I know that he is a great player and the chance to represent your country is one of things you put aside your differences and stand behind your team.

Curry is dealing with injuries. It is wise for him to pull out not to risk it. Look what happened to Durant. Also, Curry probably does not have much to prove in the Olympics. He will be even more unstoppable in FIBA basketball.

I don't think it's Zika. Probably more about the injuries he's been through this playoffs run.

I wasn't specifically naming Curry. It was just a response to leroy who said any player that opts out this year without health concerns should never be invited back.

Zika is a big enough concern for players to opt out, and I wouldn't blame them.

Although there is only one case report, the potential of Zika being transmitted sexually from a male to a female and subsequent fetus, is enough for me to not blame any athlete for dropping out.

I wouldn't be surprised if more members of USA basketball with young families drop out.

Ummmmmm... the Olympic Village is always notorious for being a free-for-all orgy. And no secks for 4 weeks after return?

Iverson and Melo were ball hogging, Lebron and Wade were young and inexperienced. Stoudemare couldn't play defense and not sure why Marion was on the team.

Hinrinch is experienced and plays good defense
    Crawford is a better shooter
    Nick Young is Swaggy P
Marvin Williams is a deadly stretch 4
    Elton Brand is still young

This team > 2004 USA Olympics team

Against FIBA field. The other half of splash brothers is enough for outside shooting. Curry and Thompson would be too much outside fire power.

Team USA could have a 1-2-3 lineup of Westbrook, Harden and Durant.

You might be thinking about Starbury, Melo was at the end of the bench. It was the Starbury, Iverson, Duncan and Larry Brown team.

Melo was there at the end of the bench along with these other future stars (Amare, LeBron, Wade), but they weren't really relevant yet. Wade had a little bit of a role.

But it was mainly Iverson, Starbury, Marion, Duncan, Lamar Odom.

That team had no shooting and a lot of iso heroes. Duncan was miserable. They had almost no practice together, unlike current USA teams. They didn't acclimatize to FIBA rules, unlike current teams.

Larry Brown was the coach, he never cared about shooting and spacing, so it's not surprising that he built a team like that... But Larry Brown is probably more suitable as a long term 'teacher' of players than a short tournament coach.

Wow, Harden is going to bring back Zika and lots of other STD back from Brazil. Those Brazilian women have the perfect body type of him.

No way Harden can abstain from the orgy in Olympic Village. He'll have 50 girls a night and then he'll come back to hook up with all the strippers
