Don't get defensive and don't be naive either. UH better backup the Brinks truck because Baylor and possibly A&M are gonna come knocking. I'm on record saying that UH would be welcomed in the big 12 if it was up to me. Lol at you thinking that nobody wants to get paid top 5 money. Money always talks. Always.
Baylor and A&M can knock all they want. only texas school im worried about is Texas. Enjoy being back on Kansas and Iowa St. level again.
I thought Sammy's Gruden pipedreams were ridiculous, but UH Fan thinking Herman is going to stay there, now that's WILD.
He has a better shot at staying than going to Baylor. If we eventually go to a big conference he definitely staying. He about to build a legacy at Houston.
Herman would leave for a handful of schools, but Baylor isn't one of them. Doubt this horrific story has somehow changed his mind. No top-level coach is going to jump into this building while it's still on fire. Probably going to take a couple of coaches to rehabilitate the image of the program.
That's how I know you don't know about CFB. Baylor has a nice stadium, 50M athletics facility (indoor practice field, gym, offices), fertile recruiting ground in Texas. We will be back. Don't make this about Herman. There are more viable options than Herman. Chad Morris being one of them.
I've heard Herman, and high ranking UH officials, speak about why he likes Houston and what it would take for him to leave. When UT, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, etc. come open, I will be pooping my pants. Until then, not so much.
It depends on a number of things. UH getting into a P5 or the playoff being expanded to 8 being a couple of the major factors. Money will be an issue too. You don't turn down 5 MM a year for 3 season after season. It just doesn't make sense. Herman didn't leave because that's a bad look after one season. The jobs you mentioned are for sure better but perhaps he wants to stay in Texas. We will see in 6 months.
and what was Baylor before Briles came along? Add in the bad reputation about Baylor right now, no big time elite HC is going to come into this situation. That's how I know YOU don't know CFB.
Who gives a **** about before. The facilities are night and day and we have deep pockets. Jarrett Stidham is a STUD and we have other pieces in place. "You gon learn." Of course, let's see how things go. No major sanctions, further embarrassment are not accounted for at the moment.
P5 stuff matters because of revenue, but in Herman's eyes, he sees the road to yearly success as being much better at UH than say a middle-of-the-road P5 program. I don't think playoff access really matters all that much to him, honestly. If it comes, it comes. You win at UH and you still get to play in big games against big teams. Money for his salary? No. Money for everything else (assistants and facilities)? Yes.
Perhaps there is more fallout and then yes it may be awfully difficult to attract anyone worth a damn even when we can offer bank. Babers or Montgomery are options but I think we're steering away from the Briles tree.
well considering you about to lose a handful of ships, your recruiting classes about to be terribad. maybe you win 7 games this season but after that you about to be pre briles bad again.
This morning, Baylor University interim president David Garland released the statement below. TLDR: Pepper Hamilton did not write out their findings in a written report so there is no report to release. They won't release details out of respect and privacy to the victims. Overall, It's hard to believe that the regents wouldn't have released more details about the investigation if it would have made the program look better. I'm guessing media will just run out of steam in covering the story if Baylor keeps everything else under wraps but it might kick back up once the season starts. Ticked off opinion piece from that highlights particularly controversial part of the statement. Deadspin: http://deadspin.com/baylor-wont-release-full-report-on-sexual-assault-scand-1780751325 Spoiler Rumors are going to continue indefinitely unless the board makes the incidents of the the investigation public and identifies the culpable personnel at Baylor and what they did. Give, some board members have been briefed a combined 30 hours in Waco and at the firm's HQ, I think it's reasonable to conclude there is no "written report" out of fear that a single .pdf could be leaked and all hell can break loose.
Breaking: Baylor JUCO transfers Faulk, Autry suspended http://baylor.247sports.com/Bolt/Breaking-Baylor-JUCO-transfers-Faulk-Autry-suspended-45680195 Hope this is unrelated to the current issues. It might be a positive thing for the school if it's a more casual offense. Then it'll look like the new coach is developing a no-nonsense approach to everything.
Joe Schad (ESPN Reporter) says former Baylor student tells him she was had text conversations with current assistant Jeff Lebby about the details about her sexual assault by former football player Devin Chafin.

BREAKING: Former Baylor student Dolores Lozano says Devin Chafin assaulted her, Art Briles and Jeff Lebby knew https://t.co/Bm8XsM3xUh
— Joe Schad (@schadjoe) June 7, 2016
Photos: Spoiler Come on...If this is legit and was reported to the BOR then it should put further pressure on the BOR to disclose what they were briefed on. However, I do think the national media will move on soon. They're just going to wait it out the best they can.
This isn't surprising. The rest of the staff will be let go after the season. Also, I think Chafin's case was domestic assault and not sexual assault. This is why Briles is gone. Chafin wasn't even needed when you have Linwood Jefferson and T Will. I don't know what Briles was thinking (apparently not thinking at all).
