Hardly surprising given his health in the last few decades.

The man is an American titan and his passing will be incredibly sad. Ali transcended everything and meant so much to so many people. In an age where the rebuke "stick to sports" is hurled at any athlete who dares give their opinion, Ali recognized his platform and was not afraid to fight for what he believed.

Hope he can recover... My favorite American athlete of all time. he embodied America, he had swagger, he was willing to stand for something, not afraid to run his mouth and had the skill to back it all up

Not just an American icon. A WORLD icon.

    A truly great man.

The Champ is 74 years old. For some reason I always see him as young.

Though Tyson is my favorite boxer, Ali is the greatest champ. A great athlete to idolize, better than today's LerBons and Ronaldos.

Yup...their are a very few people that transcend sports worldwide and become a house hold name.

Muhammad Ali is at the top of that list.

Ali, could be the greatest human being to ever walk the earth. This guy is more than just a boxer.

Anything involving Ali is bordering on D&D worthy, he's a polarizing figure.

Regardless of your opinion on the non boxing details of his life, he was inarguably one of the greatest (if not the greatest) heavyweights of all time. And a larger than life figure. To simply call him an American icon would be a gross understatement.

How long do you want him to go on? His quality of life has been poor for decades.

I wonder if he will be tested for CTE. Massive sample bias but he has to have it.

You should read about some cultural things, 60's and such.

He transcended sports, and he was the original sh@t talking, strong walking, back up everything you can say type of guy. youtube what george foreman has to say about him as a fighter.
