we are turning into Europe, where it's nothing but big government socialist/communists and big government nationalists/protectionists those that believe in individual liberty and limited government are a tiny percentage of the population
These threats don't have the same impact without you throwing eggs and taking cheap shots on people. Get out there and make the news. Don't forget your flag.
Perhaps those who believe in individual liberty and limited government shouldn't have hitched their wagons to those who want big government nationalists/protectionists for so many years.
I think the big government socialist/communists and the big government nationalist/protectionists have been around at least since FDR, and the diehards for individual liberty and limited government are the recent addition. I wouldn't say we're turning into Europe so much as we're developing an American libertarian subculture unseen in Europe since the Ukrainian Anarchists of the Russian Civil War.
This. Goddess of the Market does a good job of exploring the intellectual history of these individual liberty and free market types and their political party allegiances.
If only we could have a whole month of vacation each year, have another nation cover a huge percentage of the military commitment cover our defense so we don't have to pay for it, have increased opportunity for people to advance economically like much of Europe does.
Yeah those Europeans with such horrible lifestyles. How can they live sipping wine all the time, eating all that Italian food, driving as fast as they want, smoking up weed, taking all that time off work to travel, free education, free health care - and somehow, manage to live so freaking comfortably? We should never try to be like them!
http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/03/politics/donald-trump-african-american/index.html Redding, California (CNN)Donald Trump sought to tout his support among African-Americans on Friday by pointing out a black man in the crowd and calling him "my African-American." "Oh, look at my African-American over here. Look at him," Trump said. "Are you the greatest?" The remark didn't generate a noticeable response from Trump's audience.
Happiness is subjective. I am pretty sure you wouldn't be happy at all in most of those northern european countries.
