Okay call playing a wr at qb an "asterisk" if you want. We will see what happens October 29 when Seth Russell is healthy.
Brando - you need to stop visiting that Baylor message board. I'm a die-hard and a lot of posts are cringe-worthy.
Of course you can. Teams oftentimes (in all sports) get upset by another team they are clearly better than. On the particular day the upset occurred, the underdog was better, but over the course of a season, they weren't. Were the Eagles a better team than the Patriots in 2015? After all, they beat them in New England. For that particular game, the Eagles were better. Over the course of the season, the Patriots were clearly the superior team.
^There are countless other examples. The Warriors lost to a few really bad teams this season like Minnesota. I've never understood things like "at least, we beat OU." Yeah those guys played in the national championship game. Lol.
Thats cause you dont understand what having a real rivalry is. Sure you have TCU but thats pretty recent. Beating OU is a priority, just like beating Texas is a priority for them and Ohio St vs Michigan and ND vs USC. And yes, Texas did beat Baylor last year, but most people realize you didnt have a qb who finished the game. Not our fault that the qb got injured in the game. But again, if you want to put an asterisk by it go ahead. You may have some success next year, but what about in 2 years? Take it from a Texas fan who knows, success isnt guaranteed and most of us simply think the clock has struck midnight or close to it, for baylor football. Oh and I promise you its not like any Texas people or ATM people sit here praying for Baylor to fall down and fail and for their program to revert to the utter garbage it was. Its better for us if you guys are good. We simply know that our good, when we get there, will be better than your good. We arent there yet but we hope we've made some strides. Youve been acting butt hurt this whole thread. Like all the people in the world are holding baylor down and unfairly berating them. Your own administrators are the one who did that. It seems to be common of all baylor fans to want to look for someone to blame. Blame your own leadership and coaches who put you in this position. Yes, shady things happen elsewhere and probably most places. But you have University presidents, coaches, and athletic directors who covered up rape against their own students they are charged with taking care of.
^I understand plenty but they're killin it and y'all aren't. You can't "respectfully" bash them, imo. Baylor has a rival in TCU imo and Texas is gonna become one after this mess. See you all in Austin. I'll be there if anyone wants to link up to tailgate. You may find that I'm not as bad of a guy as some have claimed in here. Lol
Ugh you guys don't understand what I'm saying. Was UT a better team last year than OU? Absolutely not. I wasn't saying the same thing about Baylor either. HOWEVER, if you lost to that team you shut-up for a year and take care of business because it just sounds silly when you brag and put a team down that beat you on your home field. Again, every team has stories to tell about losses that could have been wins. UT had a wide array of national coverage about the multiple bad calls in the Ok St game. You can go back and see how they "should" have won but the fact is they didn't. They had all the momentum in the world against Cal but the kicker botched the kick which isn't indicative of the team and how well they were playing. Every single team can make those same type of arguments. It's like if the tough guy gets knocked out by the little guy underdog and everyone sees it. The tough guy is still tough and the little guy is still little. Yet you would roll his eyes if he went around the school and bragged about how much better he is than the little guy despite publicly losing to him in front of everyone. No one would care if he followed it up with, well I was sick that day... So say all you want about Texas (which wasn't even a response to any UT fans saying that UT was better than Baylor) but at the end of the day there is a big red L in your schedule from last year.
THIS. Texas Monthly and ESPN have no agenda against Baylor. Two of your players were thrown in jail and another one might follow for raping women. That isn't the media's fault. There's also numerous assertions that Briles and the staff knew about it. Blame the team and say they let down the fans that spend hard earned money on tickets and their time watching games. Please tell me what Texas Monthly has against Baylor?
"We simply KNOW that our good, when we get there, will be better than your good". I'm not a BU fan or alum, but this comment right here is why so many people freakin hate UT fans. Since 2010 UT has gone: '10 5-7 '11 8-5 '12 9-4 '13 8-5 '14 6-7 '15 5-7 41-35 with all the resources in the world, top 10 recruiting classes yr after yr. SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!
ugh whatever. You want to feel better about yourselves and continue baiting us with UT jabs that were never instigated in the first place. we'll just ignore them. EDIT: Ken Starr Faceplants When Confronted With Email Showing He Was Told About Rape At Baylor http://deadspin.com/ken-starr-faceplants-when-confronted-with-email-showing-1780263253 http://www.kwtx.com/content/news/Baylor-shakeup-continues-Starr-resigns-as-chancellor-381532811.html Go to minute 2:23 of the video to watch him give this answer because, in that moment, you can see him turning to Spaeth for help. Who are you talking about? I haven't read every post but the people in this thread that I believe are alumni (Sammy, MadMax, myself ) all said Briles should have been fired. But you and your ilk keep coming in with your incessant bashing. And please don't point out posts at baylorfans. Many of them believe the "liberal media" is out to get us because we are a baptist school. Strawman much?
As much as it sucks to lose Briles he deserved it and more heads need to be chopped off for anyone else that did what they did. I'm not one of those blind homers that defend their school to the death (like a large percentage of "college fans") and whatever punishments are necessary I have no problem with. Also lol UT, Baylor should NEEEEVER spend 4-5 years consistently better than UT at any point. The fact that a team with it's own network and all the resources/recruits in the world need to point to a late November game with not much on the line in a season when they went 5-7 as evidence of smack talk....well whatever makes you guys feel better about your situation so be it.
We do know our good is better than your good. I know people hate it when we win and are cocky but honestly we know what we can be. From 2000-2009 the record was 110-19. Sooooo like i stated before, things are cyclical. We have a better school, program, tradition, alumni, etc compared to most places. Still stand by it. Our good is better than your good.
You are 100% correct. Hence Mack being fired. Mack's lack of recruiting and evaluation of talent coupled with Art's offensive ingenuity and ability was the perfect storm for Baylor. Strong has had a very bare cupboard in regards to talent especially at key positions (qb, OL, DL) where experienced guys could have made the difference in some games. But I don't think anyone is smack talking at all. Just making the point of how Baylor has failed off the field so spectacularly and is now having to pay for it. Again, it's better for Texas and the conference if Baylor is good because it adds a quality opponent in a conference that still has the likes of Kansas in it.
He's not a Baylor fan, guy. Our good last season was being a favorite to win the big 12 and make the playoff before the Russell injury. OU took advantage and made the title game. Our good was pretty damn good considering that we hadn't had a top 25 recruiting class. We were the underdog solely bc of that. Now, everyone hates us. They don't wanna see us shine /djkhaled voice
This should be fun to follow. https://mobile.twitter.com/JessicaMorrey/status/738852742458802176 https://mobile.twitter.com/JessicaMorrey/status/738855515103498241 According to Cobb's father, he was told he would be released after a meeting with Grobe. Following a two hour meeting with Grobe, Cobb requested his release and was told by Grobe, "I don't have the authority to do that."
I understand the idea of not granting players a release until they meet with the new coach, but it sounds like that's already happened here. Holding a player hostage and ignoring his family's calls...wtf is going on in their minds?
