Briles deserves to be fired. Whether this changes anything in CFB is the main thing we should watch. If the big programs continue to do the **** we did and not have to suffer consequences like we have, I'll agree with you that we should have just kept Briles.
The thing is...how many do? I won't assume that rape isn't covered up by other schools. That would probably be naive. However...I can't also assume that it's rampant across the country either. It's a tough thing to distinguish.
Not too safe for the players that aren't felons, rapists or violent offenders. Would you want your son playing next to people like this? I sure wouldn't.
You have a very very recent history of allowing violent sex offenders on the football team. Please explain to me why an incoming recruit should feel safe and not concerned?
Ya both teams limped into that game for sure. UT had multiple starters out on both sides of the ball.
Baylor would have easily won that game if we knew that a WR would be playing QB going into the game. See the NC game where we blew out a top 10 team that played Clemson tough (screwed on onside kick recovery) the game before.
I'm not here bragging about beating Baylor. I'm responding to insults and putdowns from Baylor Fans here. You can't respectably bash another team and say how much better your team is if you lost to them the year before regardless of how many asterisks you want to put there. Every team in football can play the "yea but if" game for a ton of losses.
Ahh, yes, the old "everybody is doing it" defense. Perrenial flagships bounce back from scandal, making the risks of getting caught less severe. Upstarts get leveled by scandal for decades. Baylor fighting the consequences of it's actions only makes the stigma last longer. Baylor is the Vanderbilt of the Big 12, and no amount of money will ever change that.
Won 2/3 conference championships while being in position to win another this upcoming season and we're Vandy of the SEC? Are you saying that we are a small private school, bottom feeder? Actually, Vanderbilt probably has had more success than Kentucky recently. Also, our 300 M stadium and 50 M athletics facility (indoor practice facility, gym, etc) begs to differ. We'll be prepared to pay a coach 4-5 MM annually so things will straighten out a lot quicker than some of y'all are hoping for.
Baylor has done a lot of good things in the past few years, but you are drastically underestimating how much damage has been done to Baylor's intangibles. Many parents of these recruits saw Baylor as a "Christian school," so they felt more comfortable sending their kids there. It doesn't matter if you have great facilities if no one wants to play for your school.
Winning cures all is the saying. We've won with 3 star recruits and we should win this season assuming we don't continue to kick kids off of the team. Also this.. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...-at-miss--st---miss-first-game-203924280.html Video of him beating the snot out of a female is in the link. But it's Michigan State so it's all good mane
Actually, it's Mississippi State. Winning might help, but what makes you think you're going to win a lot this season? And you're not kicking players off the team, they all want to leave. It's time to man up and leave this self-deluded state you're in.
My bad, I mistyped. If no current players get kicked off like Cannon and Linwood, we are still gonna win a lot of games. KB is still calling plays and Russell-Linwood-Jefferson-T Will-Cannon-Dickson will put up 60 plus points on the regular. Fluid situation.. Let's see what happens in the coming weeks. You're referring to the 16 recruits. Most of them are gone besides Dickson, Smith and a few others. That doesn't change that we still have enough on offense.
Who is doing this? I don't believe anyone here is rooting for the program to suffer. The only thing I cared (and still care) about is the program cleaning house from all the people that let this crap go on so women stop getting raped. The reason I think those recruits should be let out of their LOI is because they committed to a school and program that had completely misrepresented itself. It's not so baylor can get worse. I don't root for other teams to be bad. I root for UT to beat them and no one in Austin in threatened by Baylor to where they want the program to be ****ty again. Baylor avoids scheduling good teams while we try to stack it every year because it's a better product. I want Baylor to win so we'll get to the playoffs if we beat them. Did I think that Baylor would lose bowls and scholarships? Yes but I was never rooting for that unless they just gave the people responsible slaps on the wrist. Despite what you guys might think, it's possible for people from other schools to actually care that rapists were not being held accountable by the program and raping other women. I want to see that report to see if anyone else in that department is responsible but if this was everyone then that's fine. Also, get rid of every single player that had abuse issues. It sucks for the rest of the players to be punished if they weren't culpable for anything. If you fire all the people who did wrong then I don't care about sanctions. I go to the BaylorFans site and it's amazing how much that fanbase has victimized themselves because of the agendas of "the media", UT and their own board of regents. By the way, Star said in his interview that one of the Baylor Regents had spend a combined 30 hours talking to the commission about their findings. I firmly believe that if they thought releasing all of the details of the report would help the image of the school then they would have.
