Criticism is vital... especially when its constructive... but to only provide criticism, and rarely give credit, or own up to past declarations that have since been disproven, makes for a sub-par forum. Its those that only post to complain that literally are a detriment... and as you showed in your post, there is a severe pattern of that with some.
Big pitching match up of two guys not pitching well so fat this season. Zack pitching better now, so we need Keuchel to be an ace today!!
Yeah, he did. He still would bat left-handed... but would try and bunt every time. Which led to the inexplicable suggestions from the resident experts as to why he didn't just try and bat right-handed.. The walkoff HR he hit earlier this year was him swinging left-handed... so something may had to have happened since then. It wasn't just a isolated bunt attempt last night... he was solely trying to bunt his way on.

Interesting decision to DH Kemp instead of White. I'm sure some analytics are involved but White is a better batter at this point.
White is the backup catcher today. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">With Castro under the weather and Gattis behind the plate, Tyler White is the emergency catcher today against <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Dbacks?src=hash">#Dbacks</a>. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Astros?src=hash">#Astros</a></p>— Angel Verdejo Jr. (@ahverdejo) <a href="https://twitter.com/ahverdejo/status/738402322275962880">June 2, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Evan Gattis in 5 games has thrown out 4 runners<br>Jason Castro in 43 games has thrown out 3 runners</p>— Jack Joshua (@MrJoshua) <a href="https://twitter.com/MrJoshua/status/738353260138926080">June 2, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I think Kemp brings a lot to the lineup especially at the number 9 spot. He's a patient hitter, will draw a walk or 2, and has shown to handle the bat rather decently. Personally, I prefer Marwin over White at first. I know I may be one of the few if any that does, but white just isn't looking confident at the plate, and plays an average at best first base. Pitchers are attacking White early in the count and he just refuses to go after that first strike. If Kemp can get one once a game or twice, with the way Springer and Altuve are hitting, can do a lot of damage with his speed. Just wish we had a better option at first. Time to pull a money ball and just throw Rasmus out there and teach him to play first.
Valbuena had a nice May, OPS of .879, after a horrid April. I'm fine with him at first. The problem is then we don't have a 3B, Margo has been fairly so-so this year at the plate. Let's see if Bregman gets pulled up and takes over at 3rd.
Similar to a DB in football who has many INTs. Teams throw his way often because he might not be good.
Against Castro, 17 stolen bases, 3 caught. Against Gattis, 5 stolen bases, 4 caught. There are a lot of other factors involved, but it is clear that Gattis has shown a quick release and a strong and accurate arm.
20 attempts...caught 3 of them stealing. Gattis: 9 attempts...caught 4 of them stealing. EDIT: Dammit Bob!
He's just being a good Moderator. Careful, he'll run through your stats too! Yours are likely more negative than cangeroo's
Nicely done, sir. Nicely done. He'll ignore it and continue on. The usual suspects will b**** their way through the first 3 innings if it isn't 25-0 and Keuchel doesn't have a perfect game going in which he's struck every batter out. Then, once the Astros have a lead, those same posters will be quiet...with the exception of if there's an inside pitch against an Astros batter.
