I keep hearing about getting this Assistance Coach or that one
    esp for Defensive purposes

Is the lack of Kevin Sampson the reason for the defense going to sh**?

What are some examples of the Assistance Coaches having an impact

Kelvin Sampson wasn't here last year either and the defense was more than adequate

To answer your question, Ron Adams of GSW is widely considered one of the top defensive coaches in the league

The same was said about Thibs back when he was with JVG and Doc (in Boston)

There's very little practice time to actually work on things during the year... stuff needs to be installed and practiced prior to the season, especially if new systems are being implemented.

That didn't happen last year and it was painfully obvious. That and teams definitely had caught on to most of this team's tendencies.

When Thibs left did JVG and DOC's defense drop off the map
or was it just a marginal drop

JVG is known for his defense so I would not expect much drop off

That is a concern because if D'Antoni is more focused on Offense
how much time is on Defence

4 hours a practice and 3 hours of Offense and an Hour of Defense

It reminds me of Wade coming to Houston and being astounded that Kubiak did not allow the Defensive players to raise their hands in practice
cause he wanted the QB to practice their throwing and the routes

    Positive Impact - Ron Adams

Negative Impact - BJ Brewerstuff, Chris Finch
