LOL @ Leslie going out of his way to say he and Daryl hired D'Antoni, basically confirming what 99% of the internet and NBA world knows: this is your call you buffoon. Leslie acts like this is NBA2k and he plays the classic Suns team who are just great to play with and then he starts the GM mode, hires D'Antoni just to see what would happen. If Mike can really get his team to play the way they did in Phoenix. He needs to get over that, times have changed and this team is not just a joke to fans. We know he wants a fun team, not a winning team. All those dumb stats and wins and losses, who the frick cares. We have not been a great team since 2009 and insignificant for over 20 years in the play-offs. The funniest is how Leslie says he wanted to run for his whole tenure as an owner. Just hilarious stuff :grin:

You should be pleased, the merging of the Rockets and Suns continues. Now we just need to get the Morris twins and Dragic back.
I wonder why there hasn't been anything about Harden's say in all of this. You know Harden had to have inside information or the input if bringing in D'Antoni was okay. Whether or not he did, I'm fine with this move... for now.

I'll give Les props for one thing: I haven't laughed this long or hard since the Oilers hired Buddy Ryan. He was genuinely upset at all of the criticism of the hire and the pointed questions he was getting during the presser. Just wait until he watches them play defense under D'Antoni. That should curdle his blood quite nicely.
I saw that too. Jesus, DM looked uncomfortable. I think the reason the Rockets went with an offensive coach is because Les is on defense for the entire team. That was hard to watch. I'm scared...
Absolutely right. It seems like there is a general view that the Warriors' offense is the only reason for their success. But their defense stifled the Spurs' offense and also the Thunder's. Meanwhile, during the WCF games, the commentators continuously praised the defense of both teams. They even attributed the shooting woes of Curry to the length of the Thunder's defenders. In the case of the Rockets, it seems like from the statements of Les himself, that Harden is the main reason for the MDA hire. If this is so, the Rockets are doomed since Harden has been known to be a lazy defender. It doesn't matter who the defensive AC is if Harden is the boss. Sad.
He b-tched about the "bad wap" the team got last year. What's disturbing is that he seemed clueless as to why they had a bad wap. No, Les, the media wasn't acting like the Rockets won only 10 games. They were pointing out how a team that won 56 games the year prior and had title aspirations after the Lawson acquisition started the season with 3 straight 20-point blowout losses(an NBA record, BTW). They were pointing out how players weren't giving any effort out there in a lot of games(even JB called them out publicly). They were pointing how simple things like running back on defense weren't happening(remember JVG calling them out in the 2nd half of Game 4 vs the Warriors?). They EARNED that bad wap, Les. I hate how he cites their playoff appearance as some sort of defense against all the criticism they've been getting. As if eeking your way into the playoffs on the final day of the regular season with a .500 record before being blown out 4-1 by a Curry-less Warriors team is something to be proud of. I have no problem with Les responding to naysayers as he calls them. What I do take issue with is how he apparently learned nothing from this past season.

I think no matter what he said the majority of people who don't like him would find fault in it. He was nice to Morey and Les and most here are equating that to ass kissing as if he is supposed to be angry stern faced and mean. Apparently he was supposed to make facebook like comments attacking Les and Morey at this live press conference?
