OKC beat the Spurs by having Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Dignity? He didn't want D'Antoni; what do you want him to do, quit? There are no other general manager spots available right now. He is still under contract. He has a wife and kids. His kids view Houston as their home.
It's unfair to request everyone is a creator, a success follower is a better choice for most people. Nobody want u to be a NBA boss like Les, but u can be a happy fan
Can't tell from context because I'm reading it second hand, but rather than assume he was trying to spin bulll****, it is to be expected he wanted to say among active coaches.
I was merely responding to the post regarding us not being the top 3 team. In terms of record, yes we are. But we haven't done anything beyond that for a number of reasons, injuries, dysfunction, etc
Les isn't completely wrong about the top 3 teams in the West. The top 2 scoring teams in the league were in fact the Warriors and Thunder. But the Spurs were only 10th. The real key is the point differential: Golden State - 10.8 San Antonio - 10.6 Oklahoma City - 7.3 The Rockets were the 4th highest scoring team in the NBA this past season. Yet we won only 41 games. Why? Again, point differential. Ours was 0.1. We basically allowed as many PPG as we scored. So by hiring D'Antoni, Les is basically ignoring one end of the floor and it so happens to be the one where we need the most help.
Daryl Morey is on 790 right now reciting the Golden Rule with regards to Les Alexander: "Whosoever has the gold makes the rules".
One can only respond to what he said, not what he meant. Moreover, they hired a non-active coach. They didn't hire Doc, Kerr or Pop... so how the point was even salient had he said what he might have meant.... I have no idea
You're not actually going to believe Calvin Watkins, are you? C'mon, now. You're either being disingenuous or letting your Morey-hatred (which is only getting worse; wouldn't have thought it possible) blind you. What was Les going to say? "Daryl Morey and I are more fractured than Clinton's and Sanders' supporters right now."
