I just want to see harden and Durant together. The rest will take shape.

Having the 2 best offensive players in the game on the same team would be sick.

I bet they would combine for 56-62 ppg.

I think there is a better chance of Harden-Parsons-Lin-Asik reunion than durant coming over. Sounds like he is set in OKC and...why would he want to join this rockets mess?

Because the team is going to be completely different?

You can have all the arguments against Durant coming to Houston, but please stop with this "why coming to this mess", it's old and no sense.

That's a recipe for another disaster because it means we failed to get a competent "Real starting PG". The last thing we need is Harden continuing to dominate the ball and masquerading as a PG. He's not a PG and the only reason why he had to take on a lot of those duties is because of Bev's lack of skills. Those duties he tried to take care of came with a deep price as well (turnover city and guys standing around watching). Any PG that can dribble, pass, and score a little will help tremendously.

So KD will come here to team up with another star that may or may not be as good as his current wingman and we're going to replicate OKC's lineup that's already in place for him if he stays put? Not to mention they have the superior coach? Okay.

Also, I dislike Westbrook very much but he's better than Harden and I fail to see how Harden/Durant could be better than Westbrook/Durant.

People gotta knock it off with the notion that Harden is/will be our "PG". If you want to believe that then prepare for another disaster of a season and you can't say Harden is a better fit than WB next to Durant and be serious. There's no question WB is the better PG and he would be a killer SG if he had PG that could pass and shoot a little. There isn't much Harden does better than WB aside from shooting the 3 ball and getting to the line.

    Terry Porter and Clyde Drexler.

Prime Parker and Gino. Gino came off the bench but they played most of the game and closed together.

Not sure what you're really trying to prove anyways. Are you saying a Steph/Harden back court wouldn't work out either?

Maybe Harden needs to change his style and be less ball dominant and more efficient. Of course that would require having a PG like Lowry and Conley (unlike Bev) at the PG spot.

Actually it makes perfect sense. This organization IS a mess. Look at how embarrassing their coaching search was. They interviewed what seemed like 2 dozen candidates, took so long to decide that they had the last vacancy remaining in the league, and then settled on a retread like D'Antoni whom no one else in the NBA wanted.

Look at the culture surrounding this team. Awful chemistry, a bunch of players basically no-showing for the entire season, a pathetic display in the playoffs where they were humiliated by a Curry-less Warriors squad on national TV, a superstar shooting guard who's routinely mocked for his refusal to play defense, and a GM who's hated by many in the NBA and media.

Then take a look at the roster. We have almost no talent past Harden. Ariza was a disaster in the playoffs shooting the ball and is physically on the decline. Brewer is a scrub. Bev is a mediocre player. Beasley is nothing more than a bench player. Harrell, Capela, and McDaniels are young and talented, but very raw. Dekker's already had back surgery and might be another Morey first round bust.

I'd seriously question Durant's sanity if he decided to come here instead of either resigning with OKC or going to at least half a dozen other teams in the league with much better and more stable situations than ours.

[rquoter]The Celtics' brass have reportedly sat down with Kevin Durant's agent and discussed what players Durant would like Boston to acquire in order to get him to sign with the Celtics as a free agent.

The Celtics have a treasure trove of draft picks in the 2016 NBA draft, in addition to having plenty of cap room, an exciting up-and-coming core of young players and a proven coach, so they could be a realistic landing spot for KD if he decides to bolt OKC as an unrestricted free agent. Durant would reportedly like to join the Celtics in a LeBron James-Chris Bosh-Dwyane Wade-like fashion, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of moves Danny Ainge makes this offseason.

Boston makes perfect sense for him. They'd be legit good and if they could then parlay those picks into other immediate impact players, they'd then be legit championship contenders.

    Hardens pretty effecient

I fail to see how you could have any problems with him on the offesnive Side of the ball, outside of TOs which keep in mind westbrook was litterly half a step behind him. Our roster dictated the way he had to play this year and we still finished with a top 7 offense with no secondary playmaker/scorer. That's all James Harden.

And you can make the case that Westbrook is better than harden in fact most people would agree with you ( I wouldn't) but harden is the much better scorer and is actually far more effecient. Russ is a 28% 3pt shooter, that is God awful us rockets fans should know because we watched Corey brewer shoot like that all season.

And the playmaking aspect is pretty subjective I think i could easily make the argument that harden would avg 2 more assists a game if he was passing the ball to Durant? I mean I know you can atleast entertain that it's a possibility.

I don't think KD will come here because his team is stacked but I also wouldn't be surprised and I don't know why you would if he thought playing next to Harden was better than playing next to Westbrook.

In fact the only reason why that 2012 Okc team even made the finals was because of harden closing out the Spurs all series. You would have to think durant remembers that.

Yes lets help the celtics land KD and create a dynasty in Boston.

If he would go to Boston to play with harden why wouldn't he come to Houston to play with him while adding another max player?

Yes that team not only can afford him but get another big marquee name, plus trade there pick for 3rd option. plus they have a team that was great as is. This would be a team that would move into Raptors place at 2nd or even be better than cavs w/ Durant. So i could see them as the only real place durant would go if he did leave.
