It's always weird starting a new coaching era. We've been through extremes. We've seen exceptional defensive teams with JVG, beautiful offense with Rick, ISO ball without motion with McHale and an attempt to maintain a mess of chemistry with JB.

One of my guys suggested that Mike D will modify the whole 7-8 Seconds Or Less approach based on our roster. It will be uptempo, but nothing like what Nashty and co. played.

I was first disappointed with the hiring, but when I think of the alternative or going with the same methodology we've seen over the last four years, I'll take some change.

What I do know is that the Rockets will be one of the busier teams during free agency. We are not rebuilding, but we are definitely starting over.

Nothing can be worse than this season. I'd assume that our starting 5 will look completely new with the exception of James. He's really the only untouchable guy on our team.

If you simply Google Mike DAntoni and click on News there are about 50 other sources that state it as "finalizing"... meaning its a done deal. The contract might have to go through legal counterparts, and the team could be waiting on a press conference till they get their assistants in a row, but its done. Mike DAntoni is your Houston Rockets 2016/17 coach.

Also Morey might want to hide this hire, but no doubt Les will want this to be paraded around as some great hire he made, and I'd be willing to guess he'll be at the press conference acting like he just hired Greg Popovich or something.

We are not escaping this one fellow clutchfans.

Also hearing Brady Heslip going to get a nice, long look.

Chandler/Knight also possible.
