That'd actually be really nice..we could sign Jared Dudley as backup 3 and smallball 4...i worry bazemore is too little to play SF in the west. Harden can't play 3 because length bothers him.

Other than Harden the Rockets don't have any players that fit D'Antoni's offense. They all fit his no-defense defense.

I almost think Les plans to tank a couple of seasons, get some high draft picks, trade Harden and anyone else other gms will take. And then blame it all on D'Antoni.

That's what I'm thinking. Ariza for Teague.

    Horford - max
    Bazemore - (12M)
    Dudley - (7M)
    Llull - (6M)
+ 2.8M room exception for someone else like Cole Aldrich. (Though I think he will get more).

I think Harden is good friends with DeRozan (both from LA), at this point I think landing DeRozan would be more likely then Durant, he's the 2nd best free agent option even with his flaws.

Derozan would be a bad fit. Terrible 3pt shooter and inefficient offensive game. Would not throw the max at him.

derozan is harden-lite. i guess we're doubling down on all offense, no defense.

23.5 ppg on 17.7 shots per game is pretty good, I think what would intrigue Morey is that DeRozan has routinely been a league leader in FTM per game. He also passss well, 4 assist and only 2.2 turnover per game is solid.

People feel like Harden and DeRozan would be a terrible fit but I think they could be a real dynamic duo. Both have an elite slashing and finishing ability in the paint, both are willing and capable passers that create shots for teamates, both have mid range games, and even though DeRozan can't really spread the floor with a 3 point shot, Harden can, we could also surround them with spot up shooters as well, so spacing wouldn't be a problem.

I'm a firm believer that Harden needs a second star scoring option, every competing team has it and we are at a serious disadvantage without one.

    Leonard/Aldridge
    Paul/Griffin
    LBJ/Irving
    Curry/Thompson
    WB/Durant
    Lowry/DeRozan

Id be very happy with landing DeRozan, IMO he's a much more deserving of a max then Conley or Horford.

That's exactly what you are saying you want to do when you hire Mike D'Antoni.

I think DMo could average 20+ on MD system

I'd like to keep Dmo, but get our hands on the following:

    Covington
Teague(he's going to be traded this off-season)
    Troy
    Another rim protector
    Jared Dudley

    Run a rotation like this:

    Capela/ Rim protector or Dmo
    D-Mo/Dudley or Covinton
    Ariza/Dudley or Covington
    Harden/Troy or Covington or Dudley
    Teague/Bev

We have 3 solid defensive perimeter players in Ariza, Dudley, Covington. Bev to be backup PG defensively. We'd also have premiere, not just very good, but elite shooting at the 2-4 spots.

Easier said than done. You need a Plan B or even Plan C. Those 3 are the hardest to sign...

    Dead eye cheap shooters

    Rush
    Morrow
    Seth Curry
    Daniels
    Novak

+ Dudley and Teletovic (more expensive but still relatively cheap)

I'm intrigued by Seth Curry. He's a RFA this summer if he opts out of his contract with Sacramento. He seems to favor the 3 ball like his brother but he's definitely good at making them (.450 for 15-16 season).

He would have to be convinced to be much more aggressive on the offensive end if he is ever going to average anything close to 20 ppg for an entire season. I love his offensive game but he has never shown the personality to be that aggressive on offense.

    I'll take Horford.
