I'm not sure Conley can run MDA's offense or play off the ball. He's amazing at running a halfcourt offense, excellent team defender, great leader, hard worker, constantly improving. He's the type of player who would demand respect from Harden rather than shying away from being involved, and I think Harden would respect his game.

If he were on a team which plays a system that suits him, I'd have no qualms about giving him the max. But I genuinely don't know if he can run a high octane offense. Maybe others know more about him and can shed some light on the subject? Is there any reason to think he can't do it?

I'd take the risk though. IMO he's the best FA on the market after Durant. To have him locked up for 4-5 years with Harden would make me extremely confident about our future. It would also, IMO, make us very likely to land Horford and I think we could even convince them both to take a pay cut to fit into our cap space (after dropping some dead weight contracts).

    Capela
    Harrell/Beasley
    Ariza/McDaniels
    Harden
    Conley

That's a great way to start the future IMO. Needs a lot of work in the front court, but it's a great start.

But when i remember nash suns we never criticized defense that much. Nash used to play solid D and he got beat up on defense alot of the time

Conley wants no part of this mess. No all star caliber player wants any part of this mess.

    Mediocrity here we come.

I'd like to see a guard in the Klay Thompson/JJ Redick mold. Someone who will run off screens tirelessly and knock down open shots, but also has enough size and speed to defend both guard spots.

The biggest question remains as to who would Harden fit with (whom would he allow to fit with him)? And what is the roater development, AI II?

Yeah, gimme Conley and Harden as a 4; throw in Crabbe or Baze; SnT DHo + Bev + 2nd 2nd for RoLo. Resign DMo. That's a start.

Oh, and do a Kings X on MDA and gimme Silas or Sammy.

Dadgum, DM the GM has a summer and a half ahead of him (thankyouverymuchOwnerAlexander). :(

    Typical click-bait b.s. And I added to its click-count.

Same old article where they explain a player and what he can do and where he's played, and then a team that needs him that "could sign" him, that "could use" him, etc etc etc.

Chris Paul is a terrible fit with Harden. Absolutely terrible.

This sounds good, but I don't know why we would want to prioritize the ability to guard SG's. Harden is not able to guard quick PG's, so we really have no need for a PG who can guard a SG. Bring on Troy Daniels!!!!!!

Signing defensive specialists for an offensive coach is like trying to force a square peg into a round hole

I like the idea of bringing in players who offer flexibility on defense and I like players with above average size for their position.

On board for Troy off the bench.

Really hoping KJ is working on his game this off season. His release seems kind of slow so I hope he gets that sped up, though that's normally at the 'fine tuning' end of a shooters development. He has potential to eat in an MDA offense.

James Harden is a terrible fit with Harden. He is going to make it hard for any ball-dominant guard to play next to him.

Every pg is a terrible fit if Harden doesn't move without the ball...just saying that if you want a real point guard, especially with D'Antoni, Paul > Conley.

yeah, that's why Harden & Westbrook combination worked out wonders for OKC, posting by far the best point differential (+13.9) for that 11-12 Thunders team. The truth is, this myth that Harden can't work together with ball-dominant PGs is BS, Harden & Westbrook pair was one of the deadliest back court duo we've seen in years. Harden just couldn't replicate that success in Houston, because he only had crappy PGs like Lin and declining Lawson as his teammates, who BTW, all became worse once they were traded to other teams, proving it wasn't Harden hold them back.
