Astros are better today. Velazquez has given up 5 runs in less than 3 innings. Whew...dodging a bullet today.
Apparently you don't know the definition of the word currently. Lots of things you don't realize, smart one.
Currently VV doesn't play for us, so unless he is pitching in a game against us, his performance doesn't affect us in any way Sorry you can't understand that Carry on
You realize that Bush was drafted to be a SS... failed... converted to a pitcher as a last-ditch effort... was an alcoholic that was charged with vehicular manslaughter... served time... played in the penal league... and then got a shot. So yeah... that's some route!
Yeah, I'm thinking more like the poor man's Luke Hochevar... so he'll turn into a solid setup man in 5 years time!
he's the toughest loss in my mind. JD had a legitimate shot and couldn't do it. The other guys we traded for real value. Villar was a 40 man roster dump basically.. just a bad move in hindsight. But he didn't have a ton of ML time to say "he's not good enough".
I was a huge Villar fan too and hated to see him given up for such a small return. But to make everyone feel better, Villar's #s are propped up by a .421 BABIP and he still hasn't been very good on defense. So he's probably not going to sustain the star level production he has put up so far this season. But I do think he will be a 2 WAR player who can be a decent everyday SS with an average bat and a lot of value as a baserunner.
Also, the prospect Houston got back fro Villar (Cy Sneed) has done pretty well in AA and looks like he could turn into a good BoR SP.
Last year i said Villar should play more, especially over Lowrie at 3b and a forum member laughed, we all know who he is, right???? I like Villar but i know we needed to trade him, the problem is we did not get enough for him.
