Fisher hit another bomb. He's on fire.

Carlos Gomez had 3 outfield assists tonight, including gunning down two runners at home. He also hit a solo HR (his only hit)... still, a pretty decent contribution to a 2-1 win.

Gomez hit a home run AND he didn't strike out.

I'll consider that some good progress.

I was hoping Gomez would continue to struggle... would add more weight to what Bregman is doing.

Now that Carlos is dominating AA pitching after just 2 games... I will back off the "promote Bregman" bandwagon. Its clearly batting practice right now in the Texas League!

Schedule softens up after tomorrow for the next 10 games. A big chance to gain ground.

Lancaster is currently up 19-10. They're about to start the 5th inning.

They're 8-12 with runners in scoring position so far.

Angel Heredia is a guy who has popped up with a pretty decent season. He was originally signed by the Pirates as an infielder, but was released after one season. The Astros signed him as a pitcher in 2012, and he got busted for a positive PED test that same year.

Since then, he's made his way up the system. He was recently promoted to Corpus and has been functioning as their long reliever, so to speak. In his 4 appearances with the Hooks, he's struck out 18 while walking 2 in 11.1 innings. On the year, he's struck out 35 in 23.2 innings between Corpus and Lancaster.

I noticed Teoscar Hernandez had his K rate at about 19%. That's a really nice improvement

His power is way down, so I suppose that is a trade off. I like this version better.

Heredia is a lot like Juan Minaya in his long road thus far. Heredia is Rule 5 eligible this offseason so I'm sure they wanted to get a long look at him in the upper levels. Same for Evan Grills, whose first 3 appearances in Corpus have been stellar.

The Hooks' bullpen (Heredia, West, McCurry) has been very underrated. All 3 of those guys have a good chance to see time in a MLB bullpen soon.

Don't know if this guy's legit or not.

Probably not. This is from the Fresno Bee sports writer:

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A.J. Reed moved extremely slow on a double to RF, which likely could've been a triple had he sprinted the entire time. But he hardly jogged.</p>&mdash; Bryant-Jon Anteola (@Banteola_TheBee) <a href="https://twitter.com/Banteola_TheBee/status/736388772703535104">May 28, 2016</a></blockquote>

I don't think anyone has said what happened for sure, but he probably hurt his hamstring again :(
