Probably but he'll have to learn to play in the OF or C if he wants to play in the majors with the Astros...assuming Bregman isn't a complete failure. There's no where for him to play on the infield.
Bregman could probably play the OF before Moran.... but then there's also Kemp/Gomez to factor in (yes, the latter will still get one more chance).
I would say things change. Moran may never hit and suck. If he hits very well, Astros will find room for him. I just don't expect Astros will give him away at what other teams likely view him.
Luhnow mentioned the other day that Bregman could play some 2nd and Altuve could potentially move to the outfield
He said it would be possible for any of them to play the outfield... but I highly doubt that Altuve would be moving any time soon (and for that matter, Correa as well).
The only reason I was excited about the call-up was because I thought it was just one step closer to Bregman being called up. I thought the move was to make room for Bregman at AAA
He's not ready at all, doesn't mean he'll never be ready. There's no reason for him to be facing MLB pitchers right now. Bregman should be playing somewhere most everyday within the next week or so.
Moran is strictly 3B/1B/DH with we/I hope some LF mixed in. Bregman can play anywhere with some practice.
The assumption of Bregman being able to play CF is likely as good as the assumption that Moran can play left. Both are likely with enough time....1-2 months. Granted, the bat likely makes it easier for Bregman to get more time to adjust.
Could very well be so. Because Correa needs to make better contact, if not he will be a very hyped prospect that meets his match in ML pitching. Becoming just another player.
Correa will very likely be a multiple time all star at the least, so if Bregman does indeed turn out to be better, we gonna be really good
