Yes. But as you saw, it played out almost exactly what could have happened with a bunt, with Springer being walked/pitched around and Altuve flying out. It's just a low percentage play to give up an out, unless you have a pitcher or Colin Moran at the plate. Also, you're basically using the same math probabilities to try and make your case. A guy with speed who has a better chance at beating out a bunt. Top of the lineup wig mathmatically better chances to drive a player in. Despite all of that, the numbers still suggest to let Kemp swing away.
Ok GoGo. I see you.

Carlos Gomez with a 422-foot homer to left field. I would give anything to get good Carlos when he gets back. Still would need a solid OBP hitter in the 9 hole though. Even though Castro hasn't been absolutely dreadful, we need a decent speed/OBP player hitting 9th to set up springer, Tuve, and Correa and give them a chance to hit someone in instead of the bases always being empty. I wouldn't mind Marwin taking over third for now on hitting 9th if Carlos comes back strong somehow.
Collin may struggle, but that curveball is a beautiful thing to watch when he's hitting his spots. Bullpen will have to come out a 'bit early though do to the number of strikeouts/pitches thrown.
It didn't play out like that, actually. Kemp k'd and springer singled. And I thought you conceded that the percentages would change with the situation.
Can't expect Gattis to block everything. Especially when McHugh is burying every single curve in the dirt.
Our OF positioning has been terrible for most of the season. Not sure if it is by luck or what but they are constantly chasing after balls that should be singles.
