You know... the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the NBA desperately needed the warriors to lose. Think about it. If the warriors win... do any of us really care about next year? The automatic assumption is that the warriors will just keep winning and dominating. NBA loses zillions of dollars. Now, the warriors lose and you get the feeling that no matter WHAT, even if the warriors win every game in the regular season, that they can be beaten. And even if a team is up 3-1 now, that team can still lose. This makes every game more exciting, which means more viewers, which means more money. By suspending Green, the NBA may have profitted something like a billion dollars. Fifty million just in the additional games in the finals. But also all the increased ad revenue from this next season, which people will actually care about now.
