League doesn't want to tarnish the Princess Warriors. They've been getting away with illegal screens for how long now? You think this kick in the nuts is gonna stop them? The NBA like for California teams to be in the spotlight.
I am assuming that this was after they had already won the championship. NBA players don't go to clubs in the midst of a Playoff series...unless you are James Harden.
Who has the agenda here? You're the one with double-digit posts in this thread, most of which contain examples of plays that look nothing like the Green-Adams scenario. There might be a valid argument to be made - you're just not making it.
It would be awesome if the OKC police arrested him for assault just before the game - the NBA could do nothing about it. Adams should file a complaint. DD
who's making an argument. the whole thing from the beginning was it doesn't matter what the consequences are to me in the end as I've stated before. I'm looking at it like what is likely going to happen from the outside (Not from a DG hater or DG lover POV). And that was DG wasn't going to get suspended. And look what happened. Here he is playing tonights game Ive addressed the league hasn't done enough to regulate things like this. Ive answered some questions posters had. Its pretty simple. I obviously don't see an agenda like you do as you replied when you weren't even being addressed in the first place. So apparently you had to push your agenda on something. But im glad you've paid so much attention to me though. Trying to make an argument because someone else isn't on the same DG hater side as you. Who cares about that. I don't
Damn right. Remember that elbow on Bogut in the last game of the GS playoff series last year? Somebody gotta remember this
Quite the opposite, if everyone is doing it they need to punish it more. Someone is going to get a serious injury sooner or later if the league doesn't keep adequate control.
I sort of hate to admit this, but the league's agenda-driven decision has worked. For me personally, I haven't been tuning in to any of the playoff games since the Rockets lost, but I wouldn't miss this one for the world. I bet tonight they have the highest ratings of any game this season. I don't want to reward the corrupt league office, but I long to see the Thunder get some revenge. Too bad it isn't baseball where you can accidentally send a fastball at somebody's chin.
You can accidentally send an elbow though. I give Adam props. Before the series I thought he would of fought Green/Bogut by game 2.
The common argument seems to be that everyone doing it mitigates the act. I agree with you, the NBA doesn't seem to enforce anything often enough anymore. GS gets away with so much, and then when they do and it's highlighted in videos and vines the common argument is "well, everyone does it". I don't see how that is a fit argument. If people are weary and say that I'm being unfair to GSW, look at flopping as another issue the NBA ignores. Harden and Westbrook are experts at flopping and embellishment. There are a number of others as well. The NBA half asses the fines and discipline toward floppers. It's a joke how it's handled. Everyone has a flopper, but it doesn't mitigate how annoying it is.
Hes been bad for them, he lost them game 1 when they were in a position to take the lead and could of given it to steph, but he charged at adams thinking he had the advantage on the fb and threw up a layup that just bounced off glass..
Green deserved to be suspended looking at all the other "kicks in the pants" that got other players and some even bigger stars that Green suspended. The NBA should just give up the charade and state that this suspension would be too damaging to ratings so we are going to postpone it until next season.
Well at first I felt like how Durant puts it: league is pro-business so we just gotta accept it. Then I just saw on the le batard Kiki vandeweigh's explanation with video evidence of Draymond's history of this kicking habit with no one around. So their argument that it was a move to sell a foul and that the groin connection is accidental, at least has empirical basis. Kiki said the league took it seriously and had a team of investigators reviewing hours of tapes, I can believe them after watching these clips too. I certainly respect the league more now especially amidst all the potential easy conspiracy theories ppl are gonna say and believe forever. Can't find the clips now on Google, but should come out any time now.
then he needs to change this bad habit - immediately - because this "habit" has been hurting other fellow players. and if intent doesnt matter as the league has claimed in the past, then he should be suspended just to be fair to all those came before him, no? karl malone injured or severely injured many players. in some cases a player's career was ended because of the injury he did to that player. i still clearly remember what malone, the dirtiest player in the league's history in my mind, said after one of the players he had injured had to end his career - "it's just the way i play." does anyone here feel that's a justifiable "reason"?
I won't be watching this stuff. Seen it too many times already, including the Dallas-Houston 04 series, the early 00's Lakers-Kings series, the 06 Miami-Dallas series, the 06(?) Spurs-Suns series, etc etc. Golden State is going to come out with a vengeance and steamroll. It will be up to OKC to regroup and keep a puncher's chance in this series.
