He needs consistent minutes. I guess he will play in the olympics this summer too, I also hope we keep him. 17-10 is not bad. DD
It was definitely nice to see that from DMo, and I hope he's turned some corner on rebounding. We all know that was a really small sample size though, so it really shouldn't affect the market price for him any. He didn't rebound like that before the injury.
A lot of it has to do with his role on the team. When you are taking a lot of 3's and hanging out at the 3 point line, you don't get many rebounds. Look at Chris Bosh as an example, when he was used in the post a lot early in his career he'd average 9 or 10 boards a game once he started to play further from the basket those rebounding numbers went down. It doesn't mean Bosh is a poor rebounder, he's just not in a position to get them as often. When they played DMo at center and used him in the post, he got more rebounds. He's certainly not awesome rebounder or anything like that I'm just saying that his deficiencies rebounding have been greatly exaggerated.
That said, it seems rebounding expectations from a PF have gone down some. One of the most memorable posts I read was from heypartner around the turn of the century. Some poster had said we needed a PF who could get us at least 15-10. heypartner pointed out how rare that had become and said ppl needed to adjust their expectations to 13-8. Well, now, you look around and there are PF's getting minutes who don't average much more than 6 rebounds per 36. They are usually stretch 4's. But not just off. rebounds are low (due to their position on offense) but def. rebounds too. PF's don't always have to be the biggest rebounders, I guess.
It only takes one and there are going to be a lot of teams out there with money. I say we offer him 10mil for 2 years with a team option. Yes, it's a gamble, but DMo can be an Al Horford/Paul Millsap/Gasol brothers type of rangy, crafty, great passing big man that plays the 4/5.
Stretch 4's defend the same number of stretch 4's as a traditional PF. Why are you using a change in the game that affects all players at the position as an excuse for one player's deficiencies when compared to others?
It affects all PF's that don't log a lot of minutes at the 5, there was only 12 PF's in the entire league that averaged 7 or more rebounds a game, 10 that averaged over 8 rebounds a game, 6 had 9 or more, only 2 that averaged 10 a game. 15 years ago you had 12 guys averaging over 9 a game at the PF spot, the game has changed.
Simple, you don't know by now Oakdogg. Lol Bobbythegreat is Dmo's superfan. I know one thing it's not stopping Draymond Green for being a beast on them boards.
Morey will let him test the marked and if it's too steep, well we can all say by by Dmo. 10 million a year will be too steep.

He won't be a starter anywhere and the market for him will be cold IMO. We should bring him back for cheap, he would be an excellent 7th/8th man.
I always give a player one year to come back to form after serious injury. So hope. but he lost all coordination, stamina, touch, and effectiveness. His value is low. I don't mind giving him another half season to get it together.
Need a coach that will post him up, or else he should go to a team with a better org that can utilize a players strengths and minimize their weaknesses. He could be a Spur, pretty easily. DD
Nice passive aggressiveness. Personally, I think the Rockets did a good job with DMo last season when he became consistently good.
We don't need rebounders as much as we need guys that boxout. Chuck Hayes and Shane Battier were not great rebounders.
