My guess is either the critics really enjoyed what is a very simple-minded take on finance, or they just didn't want to give an A-list cast poor ratings. There's no emotion, it's full of gaps, the message/theme makes no sense, and the characters aren't believable.

It's Occupy Wall Street rage with stock characters, no substance, and a plot ridden with holes (if there's even a plot - the whole premise is false).

    Nice Guys - 7/10.

Good end of 1970s vibe. Nothing too deep plot wise.

    Money Monster 7.5/10

Directed by Jodie Foster, who I thought did an excellent job. While the film may not be to everyone's taste, based on the couple of mentions here, we thought it was very good. I suggest seeing it, if you haven't already. George Clooney nails the role and it's the best acting job I've seen from Julia Roberts in a very long time. It's a thriller with a crazy plot directly aimed at corruption on Wall Street.

    Glynch should see it.

Yeah, I agree with everything here.

Also saw Neighbors 2 - 5/10. Some cheap laughs and entertainment. Didn't expect much, so wasn't really disappointed or anything. Another 'girl power' movie.

    Captain America: Civil War.

    8.5 out of 10....

The 2nd best "comic book" movie I've ever seen...even better than the first Avengers and only behind The Dark Knight for me.

Finally saw the Revenant. 9 out of 10. Since most everyone has already seen this, avoiding spoilers seems moot, but still, I will only comment on the filming (very much "you are part of the action"). I'd have rated it higher still but I struggled to understand everything Tom Hardy said. Many parts of the film match if not exceed the first part of Saving Private Ryan and throughout Blackhawk Down in intensity and gruesomeness. But the story, acting, and cinematography are all first rate.

    Perfume:The Story of a Murderer. 6.5/10

Dustin Hoffman needs to stop acting. Could have been a really good movie, it was just a little too whimsical for me when it couldve have been darker. Still dark nonetheless. Ending was disappointing but all in all really a unique movie. Would recommend.

    The Witch: 9.5/10

Excellent cast, cinematography, great pace, depth, tense, and worth more thought. Definitely go see, and then definitely give it more thought and research. I could not quite get comfortable with where the film was going and why it was going there, which was a good thing, and it kept me wondering what is happening and why is it happening. Liked that a lot.

The witch barely makes herself present. Which by the end of it not only adds some Hitchcock like effect, but makes u question if the Witch really did anything, and that is the brilliance, as the Witch trials of the era were not really about witches, but the terror that haunts the human mind. And therein lay the only thing I think the Director should have done differently. I think he should have cut the final scene and let it end with her following the goat into the barn so as to let the audience sit on the thought of why all of this happened. I think the ending still was very fulfilling and compelling though, because by adding the goat you are compelled to go deeper into how it all parallels the garden of Eden and all of that stuff and how the director nailed the sins and character flaws of the family. But most important, it got at the heart of the mindset of the witch trials, which was that the family did almost all of this to themselves.

    Great movie.

Wait... You're serious? The movie is facile at best. I can't credit a director for making such a film. And maybe it's the fault of the writing/directing team, but I can't credit the acting either.

SouthBound- 7/10. Good horror movie with great creepiness throughout. Reminded me of a darker "where is everybody?" TZ episode.

Give it as little credit as you like. I'm giving my opinion. Considering that I grew up with a father who took the family to the movies 2 or 3 times a week, every week, unless he was out of town or ill, and that I've been an ardent movie fan ever since (took my now grownup kids to the movies all the time, as well), I like to think that my opinion isn't pulled out of thin air. If we all thought the same way, this would be a pretty boring place.

Brutally heartbreaking. Should be required viewing for...well everyone. 9/10

    John Wick
And the award for most headshots in a film goes too...
Loved the slow reveal of Keanu's character, the action and the underworld. Definitely up for a sequel. 8/10

    Capt America: Civil War
Cap just keeps getting better and better. Made up for the miss that was Ultron and among the best of the Marvel movies. I loved the blurred lines between the heroes and villains and that it broke from convention with regards to his objectives. 9/10

    Hateful 8:

    Incomplete / 10

Stopped halfway, don't know when or if I will continue. Easily the slowest Tarantino movie yet. You could skip the first hour and not miss a damn thing.

That's crazy. The first hour is the best part... I guess Westerns aren't for everyone.

Hate that they made it into feminist garbage.
