We were definitely spoiled by what Correa showed last year, and the lofty expectations for this year were probably unfair. I still believe in his talent and fully expect him to be what we think he can be. I just wonder about the approach at the plate and what kind of coaching he's getting. Pitchers were going to adjust to him but the SO #s are frustrating.
I'm just trying to figure out which gods we offended.... How both the Rockets and Astros could fall apart after such promising seasons is really head scratching
He's at one WAR for the year which extrapolated out to a little under 4. Most of that accumulated in the first week. For the Astros to be a contender he needs to be what fans thought he was, not what he is now. What he is now is a nice shortstop that should be hitting fifth or sixth. No playoff contenders have a guy like correa batting third expect to win it all.
Had this same thought. He looked seasoned last year as a rookie and this year looks like a rookie. He would have hit that last pitch from Hamels to right centet for a double last year. Why not the same approach? He was trying to pull that ball for some reason. Coaching needs to get these guys back in line. Why are we mental midgets against the Rangers. I am not one to overreact but I would say we are much closer to ending this season with a top 5 pick than make the playoffs. We still have a long ways to go and this seems like who we are instead of some slump. I just don't see the upside this season unless something clicks and we get clutch pitching and hitting for once.
Keuchel is probably the worst pitcher on the team at the moment. I have the same confidence in him that I did in Oliver Perez last season.
