You do know that D'Antoni is not Morey's choice...right? It's been pretty common knowledge.

That said, while I know very little about Silas, I'd prefer to go with the unknown in this case instead of the known failure that's been D'Antoni's career. Especially with this roster constructed as it currently is, there's almost no chance of success under MDA.

He's not shrunk down to his son's height and he still makes an impression in person. He also made a lasting impression on Tyrus Thomas' throat his last year with the Bobcats. And you are right about rebounding, he might be one of the best at teaching how to effectively rebound without size. Though he likely isn't doing much more on the floor these days.

Stephen seems to have a very good rapport with players, he's normally referenced by the current Hornets here and there for attribution on player development and he's got a tremendously easy way about himself with both the press and the casual exchanges you see on the sideline. But he's got a bit of Paul in him so I would not worry that he'll be a shrinking violet.

As for his offense, his dad's was famously that if you had an open shot an the clock was below 14 seconds and DIDN'T take it, he was pulling you off the court. Before he seemed to lose it concurrent with the Bobcats shedding all valuable resources, he was the guy that rehabed Kwame Brown in 2010-11 to where he produced one of his best years of his career (and got a pretty fat contract to go elsewhere as a FA). So I would think he would conjure up some offense comprised of Charlotte both under his dad and Clifford plus him (whatever that magic sauce might be).

Benefit is that the team gets his wife to do the National Anthem a couple times a year (she's quite a good singer) so there's that bonus. Can Laurel Pringles carry a tune?

Hollins would be a far better head coaching fit than D'Antoni. That alone should make this decision much easier.

Who would Monja Willis like more?

Still not at all excited. Whatever. I think I've just lost interest at this point...

Yeah, pretty ****ty we're choosing between Mike D'Antoni and some unknown rookie coach who's probably J.B.B. part deux. And maybe just as bad, fans want the unknown over the ****ty known.

    Thanks Les.

Good because the Rockets need more drama and uncertainty.

Watch Silas sign with another team this weekend. This team is clueless and have no sense of urgency

Man please. You cannot give rockets fans false hope like this. If you were going to go with Pringles, you should just hire him now. Leaking that you are debating going in a different direction, getting our hopes up, and then still going with Pringles would he devastating.

The Rockets organization seems so indecisive, so tentative. I am sure they have been surprised by the amount of fan unhappiness with the D'Antoni hire that they seem to be scrambling to look at alternatives but now confused as to which way they want to go.

Contracts with the other teams hiring coaches this off season. Minnesota, Sacramento, Orlando all seemed to target their coaches and moved decisively with offers.

The one concern... what if Hollins isn't interested in being an assistant/mentor to a young coach here? He might have considered an assistant job to an old coach with the chance of replacing him, but maybe he doesn't want to wait behind a young guy?

Doesn't Mike Conely also have a deep relationship with Hollins? This move could help us get some quality free agents. I am all for Silas and Hollins

Need for a certain player's postseason to be over first.
