I'd be more optimistic of Silas/Hollins over MDA/Anyone

    Exactly how I feel.

I know nothing about Silas but I'd take him over MDA any day.

I'm concerned that Morey will try to take advantage of Silas the same way he did JB. Silas is new and won't know any better

As others have noted, this isn't ideal but better than MDA.

I like this, Hollins won't take crap from no one, especially Harden. Could turn Harden's defense around tremendously.

This could work out for the best.

    Here's my theory.

DM wanted JVG but Les was stuck on D'Antoni and exciting basketball. DM relented but then brought in as many guys as he could until one could catch Les' eye so much that he will consider giving the heads up. Silas went to Brown, has a long pedigree as an AHC in this league, and is extremely well respected by players. I think Daryl is doing a great job of trying to get what he wanted while still keeping the owner happy.

This would make me feel SOOOO much more optimistic about the Rockets rebound from this year.

I feel like its Morey's pick (Silas/Hollins) vs. Les' pick (D'Antoni). How can you have two finalists that are on that opposite sides of the spectrum without disconnect between Morey & Les? Talk about radical differences there.

We'll see who gets their way.

Neither JVG or Vogel were ideal candidates. Like it or not they had serious flaws too.

Good solid take. I would say this is highly possible. Morey really should get a huge round of ovation from the fans & an outpouring of respect if he was able to successfully derail Les from hiring D'Antoni.

Haha. Silas is who we want because he isn't D'antoni.

I'm on board with the new blood. But does anyone know what his forte is? I assume he's more offensive minded if Hollins is his assistant?

I have seen this defense of a MDA hiring floated a few times. I can guess that a "flaw" of JVG could be his being out of coaching or even his approach to offense (neither I think is a "serious flaw"), but what possible flaw does Vogel have?

I think this is what happened too kinda.

That Les wanted MDA and Daryl said "Wait...let's interview a few more people." and maybe this guy impressed.

Question for all you guys who are loudly proclaiming that this is definitely a better choice than MDA (and I'm not sure I disagree):

Can any one of you tell me what type of offense Silas would run?

    Seriously, do you even know?
