Is there such a thing as a good sleeping pillow? I've never known one, and from reading online it's hard to tell what's generally considered a good one. I'm a back sleeper, wife is a side and back sleeper. Anyone have any good pillow recommendations?
+1 for this. Body pillows are excellent for side sleepers, if not the best. Total support for neck, arms, and legs. Only con is their are large and oddly shaped, so it may disturb your partner if you don't have a king bed, and you probably will need to store it somewhere other than the bed during hte day.
Absolutely. Wife and I are both side sleepers. Full body pillow between the legs will change your life.
I can only sleep on my side, so should I buy something like this? http://www.walmart.com/ip/13360480?...41403352&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78299012432&veh=sem Or do you have other brand suggestions?
Combination of multiple pillows does the trick for me; one btw the legs, one under my top arm, and one to support the arm I am laying on. So 3 in total.
I'm a side sleeper and I use a memory foam pillow for my head/neck and a body pillow to hold between the arms/legs. Memory foam pillow: http://www.amazon.com/Iso-Cool-Memo...6225&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=iso+cool+gussetted This one is what I use and is on sale for $32, usually sells for >$45. Great support and stays cool.
Thanks guys. Wife already has a body pillow - more like 2 or 3 - but I agree those are good for side sleepers. What about for those of us who sleep on our back?
I have been trying to research this for like the past few months. I do sleep on my side but go to sleep on my back and usually wake up that way too. I just bought a new bed (I needed firm) but the pillows I have aren't cutting it and I hate that I dropped close to $200 on 'em. Those long side sleeper pillows, I just do not want in my bed.
Yeah I've been looking into it for awhile too and it's odd how there's so little consensus for a good pillow for a back sleeper. Even the ones that seem to score well have their drawbacks, plus you'd have to order them online and they can cost $200. Which seems ridiculous to me. Tempted to just get a $30 one from some retail store and accept that I'll just have to buy a new one every 4-6 months.

Back sleepers don't have a magic bullet. You just have to try out a few to find the right density/firmness as well as the right size. The only thing there is to know about materials is that latex/bamboo are good about hygiene as well as keeping cool. Memory foam not so much.
