Honestly though, watching the first few games of the season (like the first 20 or so, including these first 3-5 that were supposedly OK) I felt like Harden was purposefully sabotaging the team. I don't know why he'd do it, but I know he did. He didn't make the little passes, he didn't run off the ball at all, go watch, you'll see it. I'm pretty sure the concensus on this forum was that he was playing like **** and losing games for us. Then all of a sudden january came around and his averages actually looked decent and most of the BBS with it's short memory forgot about how Harden played and just started posting his stats around and saying that he was trying to carry the team and the other guys just didn't show up. Then slowly Harden started to turn things around and actually tried doing some good I guess. But at the first part of the season he was playing losing basketball and it destroyed the team's chemistry and chances at anything good coming out of this year.
Harden has Mauri by the cojones. He can do whatever the F he wants because our GM will not hold him accountable and will bend over backwards and curl up for his priced acquisition. This is to the detriment of our franchise. One amongst several reasons I want Murray gone.
Actually, many people do remember the start of the season. You are right, he played like **** for the first third of the year then he pulled his finger out
There's others. Has anybody finally figured out why Josh Smith signed with the Clippers for less than what we were willing to pay him? Many of you keep saying it was the uncertainty of his role. But........DMO was out for the first month of the season. Oh yes, there was role uncertainty here just like there was in LA. Smith and Dwight are tight. Do you think if James had wanted Smith back and had reached out to him and management and told both parties so that Smoove would have gone to the Clips? Harden is your new Kobe folks. Unless he changes that is going to be a repeating problem. So you either get a strong coach that can fix him and make it work or you get a coach that will feed right into Hardens wheelhouse and you conform the whole roster around a stubborn one-dimensional superstar. Sure looks like Les has chosen the latter. So say hello to Seth Curry at about 3-4 million per season and say good bye to Trevor (while he still has residual trade value), goodbye to Dwight and hello to Timofey, David Lee, or some other pick-and -roll small ball 5 and watch us run and gun like mad while our opponents do the same.
Bring on Seth Curry. He would be a bargain at that price. Give us a break with Smith, that is ****ing huge reach. Harden let smith do his thing, he cheered for him and embraced him when he won that game for us at LA. He got his shots and he handled the ball when he was on the floor. Do you remember his reaction on the bench next to McHale when we won the series against Dallas? Yep, that was because he hated playing with Harden.
Wrong as usual. Rockets had a purported logjam at the 4-5 spots last offseason. Jones Motijunas (who wasn't projected to be hurt) Capela Healthy Howard Harrell Dekker as a possible stretch 4 plus Ariza & Brewer in small-ball lineups as 4's. Meanwhile, the Clippers did not even have a replacement level back-up big man on their roster when Smith signed. They were playing Big Baby Davis in the playoffs.
I don't get it. If this player told a friend, who then told you, then what's the big deal with saying his name? Clearly, he didn't care if his friend told you. Why would he care if he's telling the truth? Do you think James is reading this thread and will get angry with said teammate? Hiding the guys name doesn't do anything.
I hate posts like this. What exactly is your point? We get mad when reporters use anonymous sources; it's even worse when random posters do it. So now everyone's guessing who it was (DMo). Plus the information is pointless, vague, and at the same time obvious. And for all we know dude could be making this up.
Sorry Sam. You're wrong here. And it will eventually come out. Smith did not leave because he was worried about the rotation. When it comes out I'll remind you since you're so insistent I'm wrong. I know what happened. Two sources verified it. Smith will eventually tell it.
This shouldn't be a surprise... Harden is an aloof, self centered egotistical narcissistic b****... I think most everyone except the nuthuggers realize this...
When players leave houston they don't have great things to say...Dragic, Lowry, PPat, TRob, Prigioni, Howard, Lin, Parsons...but it's there fault?? Ppl on these threads just call them soft or cancer, or scared, or selfish...and ignore the pretty obvious
So when can we expect Smith's autobiography?? That book's ceiling is through the roof....Please ask your inside sources!! Weird though how Smith and Harden looked really tight last season and even this season...even tighter than Smith and Howard! And weird that in the summer there were reports of Harden trying to bring back Terry and Smith...
The funny thing is Smith was an abomination this season. If Harden did everything he could to push Smith out (doubtful at best), he was correct.
