Plus its not like Hollins Nets teams were good defensively. They were bad defensive teams.

Would have been nice if he joined with McHale a few years back... Could have changed a lot.

It doesn't seem like it would fit between D'Antoni and Hollins

Their styles are completely different. Would they be able to come to some sort of compromised game strategy regarding which end of the court the players will expend more energy?

I agree with the complete coach comment above, even if I can't name a complete coach that is available right now

LOL... the Rockets are floating out big-name assistants now. Then we will see them get snapped up by other teams, one by one. And pretty soon we will be seeing the team hire second or even third tier assistants. Just like the head coaches and FAs...

    Smart move by Hollins.

Knows MDA will be fired within 2 years and he'll assume role.

Still won't change the culture and have established leadership while also getting Harden to play defense. Didn't Mchale have a defensive assistant? Didn't look good the first 11 games.

Actually with his exponential negative progression in tenure it should only be 1 year

The current problem is being discussed at length. MDA hire is looking like it'll happen. The season ended for me when we got eliminated. This summer is longer than last year's because we got eliminated earlier. I don't care who wins the this year. If sweeping shortens the rest of the playoffs, then I want all sweeps. Get on with the draft. Get on with the offseason.

Defense is an issue. Lack of offensive sets is an issue. Big time free agents will be available this offseason. And we are about to hire MDA? The last person to like this guy is Steve Nash. You also have Dwight opening his big mouth to save face. This is at the expense of the Rockets FO. Right before free agency. Harden is out there breaking fingers. MDA is rumored to be a an owner-driven initiative with no regard for any FO input.

We can talk about that instead. But this is about Lionel Hollins as a potential assistant with MDA. What else do you want to talk about?

By all means, let's panic about the possible consequences our imagined future success might have!

Eh. It's more about hiring the right head coach and not hiring two coordinators with one of them having more authority.

I like Hollins but will Pringles really adopt his defensive philosophy? I doubt it.
