Houston Rockets move toward formal offer to Mike D'Antoni

I would bet Morey is going to make a lot of moves this offseason. I wouldn't be surpised if Horford and Ryan Anderson are signed and some players are traded to bring in shooters.

 

These people don't know winning basketball anymore. I guess last year is the pinnacle they can get to. This is absolutely the worst decision they could make right now.

 

Let's hope that MDA has understood where he has failed in the past as a coach, and where he has succeeded.

Let's hope that he focuses on defense and has studied defense in the past few years.

Let's hope he has watched the warriors/spurs and other teams , adding to his offensive strategies.

 

Wouldn't that have also been the case prior to his last failed stint with the Lakers though?

People act as if he's been out of the league like JVG. He hasn't. He is who he is. This will be a high scoring/no-defense and potentially dysfunctional team. He's had more teams with that MO than the ones that were potential title contenders.

 

I don't think Hortford will be signed with Pringles on board, Ryan Anderson is almost certain to be looked at for sure and D-Mo may become our next center. Beasley and Anderson fighting for minutes and for Mike he's also going to want a point guard. For me Lin and Conley come to mind, also would not be too surprised with a Festus signing.

 

Which star PG would actually want to come to play for us and with Harden?

 

As long as we steel cut the roster, then D'Antonio will be fine. But he needs a new roster to fit his system. Having already replaced a Bickerstaff once, his D regressed by 6 points, so I don't expect a miracle there, but his defensive scheme is respected by Coach K and Pop, so I have some trust.

 

Mike Conley, Brandon Jennings, Ish Smith..

Hire=AllOffense/NoDefense coach.

 

I would have hired several candidates before D'Antoni, but in fairness, he took over some very flawed and dysfunctional teams and franchises. I don't know that many coaches would have had sustained success in those situations.

At this point, lets see how this whole thing shakes out.

I tend to view this whole situation similar to how Sam Fisher does, but I do at least see some potential upside.
