Houston Rockets move toward formal offer to Mike D'Antoni

Les Alexander - Head Coach
Morey - Head Assistant
D'Antoni - Offensive Coordinator, nice head coach title on his business card
Paul Silas - Defensive Coordinator

At first I was like "LOL, D'Antoni won't let James score 100" and then I realized Simmons meant "LOL, under Dantoni, someone that James is guarding will score 100!"

That healthy Suns team was a very good team. They just couldnt get past SA (one of the best teams over 10 years in league history) nothing wrong with losing to them.

The laker team he took over had a broken down Nash, a hurt Kobe and Pau, and a hurt howard who didnt want to be there.

The knicks have no talent to work with.

So i get your feelings on him based on his last few years coaching, but I want to see what roster changes we make and what assistants we bring in before I pass judgement.

 

Agree with this sentiment.

If Howard opts out, we will have major money to help shape the kind of roster MDA wants. In addition, I hope the assistants can really put in work.

Lots of if's but we need more talent on this team. We will have a system that has worked in the past, but we need... talent/shooters. Axe Brewer/axe anyone who doesn't fit the system.... PLEASE... for the love of god.

 

Best case scenario, we will be the Suns to the Warriors Spurs


But I doubt we even get that lucky

Pretty disappointed if this is true.

It's like they're building a hot rod. They start with a fabulous engine in harden. Then they back that with like, just an ok stock paint job in Beverly and Ariza. Def not cherry apple red. Dwight at this point is a parachute. Then they got cheap and put bald tires on it like Brewer, smith and this retread coach dantoni. Daryl morey is a pair of weak headlights. Les is in the backseat waiting on someone to come drive but not doing anything about it.


Worst. Uber. Ever.

 

So hypothetically.... If D'Antoni makes this team amazing next season is everyone gonna flip the script on his hiring?

I'm just befuddled at what exactly MDA is saying in these interviews that is so impressive to Les. I imagine the interview going a bit like this:

Morey: "Mike, based off of your track record, defense has been your weakness, there have been some troubling quotes from your former players saying that you didn't teach them any lick of defense. Last year the Rockets had a terrible defense, and almost everyone universally agrees that defense is the single biggest issue that this current roster has, how are you going to solve this defense?"

MDA: "A good offense is the best defense"

Le$: "Brilliant!"

 

Welp. Time to just look for Pringles jokes.

 

Ken burger is useless. He was the one saying that jvg was a finalist and there as momentum to him being named coach just a few days ago. Turns out jvg never even interviewed
