Also that when you guard Dwight feel free to foul him EVERY play because he's no threat to the line.

So he can't even be finesse if he tried. We all complained at how guys would basically wrestle him in the post, why not? This means any random scrub can guard him, remember Bargnani owning him? Just get physical, if you play physical every play refs won't call it every time and if they do so what? he goes to the line to clank some FTs, mission accomplished.

At the very least you'll piss him off and he'll get a tech.

I'm fine rolling with Capela but we're going to have to get production out of the power forward position if that's the way we go. D-Mo is not going to cut it.

Dwight's truly a fascinating player. It's very rare you see somebody so good at something (P&R), yet so decidedly against it. He truly, TRULY, does not understand what makes him a great basketball player. Does he really think he would not be "involved" if he just did what made him good?

Seems to me Dwight talks out both sides of his mouth. Do you want to be a TEAM or do YOU want more touches? The guy could dominate the boards and lock down the defense but he, allegedly wanting to do whatever for the team and wanting a team concept, decides to not play as hard because he didn't get a pass inside.

You wanted out of Orlando to grow as a player and branch out but, when you get to a team who expects to compete for a championship, you think it wasn't a good fit because they were not a close-knit team like you left.

I also think there was probably a LOT more to the conversation with Morey than what he's saying in this interview. I have a REAL HARD time believing, as a GM, your max-salary star player comes in asking to get more involved and you just say "Yea right! LOL!!" If that was the case and Dwight was so hurt by it, why is it even a question whether he would be back again as he says?

Sounds like he just wants his teams to be all buddy buddy and everyone love him.

I'm not a Dwight hater, I like the guy but it's interesting the same thing keep repeating itself in his career. Also interesting the parallels to this season and his season with the Lakers where the coach being fired really early in the season and the team turning to D'Antoni. lol

The sad thing is, if Dwight would've just bought in..........whenever he and Harden ran the pick and roll, it KILLED the opponent.

But they'd run it a few plays and revert to their own games.

Dwight is not an effective hub of the wheel. You can't put him down on the block with four shooters around him, it isn't going to work. He isn't a good enough passer out of the block (not that he sucks, but he isn't great) and if he gets fouled, he'll brick the free throws.

Can't believe I stood in that 100 degree heat in July 2013 waiting for him to show up outside Toyota Center. :)

Uh that's the point he's not coming back that's why he put that out there to deflect the blame from himself.

all da ghost are coming outta da closet.

Dwight is the same immature dude, spilling the beans on everything behind the scenes in a public interview. You know you're supposed to **** on your teams after you retire right?

Moreh same idiot gm. Chemistry and defense doesn't matter. We gonn shoot 3s and layups until everyone is unhappy and we are true pretenders!

Every answer I read from Howard increased my distaste for him.

Get this guy out of here.

Dwight: I want to more involved. Give me more touches in the post

Morey: Sigh. I'll just let JJ and Deke handle this

    Hands made of stone

    No footwork

    Awkward handle

Poor passing out of the post

    Can't make freethrows

Morey did the right thing lmao

Simple question asked by TNT and now ESPN: are you opting you? Dwight will give you the run around.

Well I haven't thought about it but I kinda told & talked to close friends about it and my agent will worry about the contract numbers & teams.

OK, so just say you're opting out. Is it that damn hard?

Always great to admit to TNT & ESPN you take yourself out of games because you don't get the ball. I'm sure perspective buyers love hearing that.

DH: Mr. Morey, I'd like to be more involved! Mr. Morey, are you listening?!
DM: Shut up Dwight. We don't want you involved.

Bad look for fat boy to tell his big FA signing, "No, we don't want you involved." Fat boy also should have traded him at the deadline.

Yeah, yeah, once again telling us you were disinterested and took yourself out of games. Great.

So what did you do? You brought in Uncle Clifford to babysit you and keep you motivated.

Relationship with Harden? Here's some long winded answer aka "It's not what I thought it would be."

    Outside things, hmmm...

How can you return to Houston? Another non-answer answer. "Well you never know!"

    Yeah, we can tell.

Want your teams to be close yet they've imploded at/near the end of your stay.

    ...

    ...

    ...

Here comes Mike D, here comes Mike D, right down 1510 Polk Street.

    ...

Did you ask to fire Stan? Here's another long winded answer where I say no but yes I did ask for a coaching change.

    ...

You think you wanted a different atmosphere. Lights too bright in LA, failure to launch in Houston.

So Otis is the waffle and not you? :p

Oh, you've spread & planted your seed alright.

    ...

Never expanded your game/range because your fear of missing & messing up. Riiggggghhtt.

    Mental midget confirmed. ;)

Yeah, here we go again with the "If [I'm] used correctly...".

OK, you're healthy. You still suck on the block.

Everything Shaq does, I will try to follow. — Dwight Howard

This interview finally changed my opinion of Dwight. I was thrilled when we signed him, then wondered where his post game was. Now I know: He doesn't like to do anything other than alley oops and putbacks, with the occasional baby hook that rarely goes in. Shooting from even slightly farther from the hoop is bad because he might miss it and people won't like him anymore.

    WTF?!?!?

I'm done with this guy. He's a huge head case who disguises it by being such a nice guy off the court.

Throughout the interview on Inside the NBA, I kept waiting for him to step up and defend himself. I've never before seen a superstar-level player sit there and take crap from interviewers without fighting back. Kobe would've gone nuts on Barkley! LeBron would've laughed him off like he was an idiot. Dwight just bowed his head and accepted his national-TV whoopin'. It was sad.

I also found it weird that he says he brought Clifford Ray in to work with him. I had just assumed that it was the team who brought Ray in. You've been in the league for a dozen years and need to bring in a big man coach to help you with the mental aspect of not being utilized in the manner you think you should? That speaks volumes about Dwight's weak mindset.

Move along, former Superman. Great idea to sign him, but ultimately a terrible fit, just like he was with the Lakers. What makes it sad is he can't see that it's his own damn fault.
