FranchiseBlade - what statements did Trump make about Mexicans? Are you sure the comments weren't related to illegal immigrants?
It's amazing what he's been allowed to get away with posting in here. Strange, considering the #1 reason why Trump is even in this conversation is his name.
Wanting to shut down illegal immigration isn't the reason he was called a racist. Obama also wanted to shut down illegal immigration and deported more folks than his predecessor. I don't think calling Trump on his statements is part of an election strategy. So there is no fail or succeed applicable here.
They were, and the illegal immigrants he was referring to were Mexicans. Bigoted language and deeds don't have to be spelled out. Remember the literacy tests as a requirement to vote? It didn't have to be spelled out that the target were African Americans. But most folks were smart enough to know exactly what it meant. Hopefully you'd be smart enough to know exactly what Trump meant as well.
He implicitly stated that MOST illegal Mexicans are rapists by explicitly stating that SOME are not rapists which can be easily concluded as "most illegal Mexicans are rapists" which isn't only bigoted/racist but factually incorrect.
This comment shows how out of touch you are. Yes, they absolutely do need to be spelled out. Lazy thinkers like you have no right to simply label everybody on the other side of the aisle as bigots. You're a lazy thinker and I cannot respect that.
He's not labeling "everybody on the other side of the aisle" as bigots, he's labeling Donald Trump as a bigot. Calling the majority of Mexican immigrants "rapists" and threatening to impose a religious test on Muslims entering our country are not subtle nods to bigotry. They're pretty overt. Plenty of people did not vote for Donald Trump and many respectable conservative intellectuals continue to hammer home what an utter disaster this man and his followers are for your party. I thought you'd be smart enough, texxx, to recognize the threat Trump poses to your cause. Please be a more independent thinker and don't resort to blind defense of Donald Trump because he decided to put an (R) next to his name.
Nice to see you set the record straight and still support poll taxes and other methods of discrimination used to keep African Americans from voting. These were the laws that MLK Jr. and others in the non-violent civil rights struggle were battling against. So it's no surprise that texxx is against that. Please read the language of the Louisiana literacy test law. Note that it doesn't single out African Americans in it at all. Yet the people of this nation and the civil rights movement knew that it was bigoted. Sadly you don't seem to be able to grasp that. Oh well. That says all about you that we need to know.
Off the top of my head with no article hunting: Bigoted and overtly racist acts Trump has performed during the Republican primaries. 1. Explicitly state that only SOME illegal Mexican immigrants are 'good people'(not rapists). 2. Retweeted a infographic created by a proud overt white supremacist group that had inaccurate information about black on white crime. 3. Fabricate a story that he PERSONALLY WITNESSED IN PERSON(not through the television) THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating 9/11. I needed to put the 'personally witnessed' part in bold because many Trump nutthuggers defend this statement by stating that he could have mistaken footage of Palestinians in Gaza cheering which contradicts his statement that he personally witnessed it. 4. Explicitly stated that ALL Muslim immigration must be stopped 'temporarily'. Is that "spelled out" enough for you? Or do you want to move the goal post even more? Again, this was just off the top of my head.I probably could find plenty more examples with more effort.
It doesn't matter if an illegal immigrant is good or bad. They shouldn't be here. Every crime commited by anyone illegal is one too many. Show the tweet. No matter how you look at it 13 percent of the country committing 50+ percent of violent crimes is a problem. Citation? Sounds reasonable to get America sorted out before we let another conflicting ideology into the mix. Stop saying move the goal post. Just make your point.
You have a child's mind. Maybe that's because that who you're around all day, every day as a teacher, not sure. You just changed the topic completely when I called you out. Telling.
Just because you weren't able to follow that racism and bigotry exist and have existed without being explicitly stated doesn't mean that I changed the subject. Move along.
