This has nothing to do with millenials.

He will either get his team to play hard or he won't and that will be on him.

Players play hard and respect coaches that work hard, are confident and competent. Most players want to play hard for a coach.

As far as the interpersonal skills of D'Antoni, he is an *******. However are a number of coaches, including a former "Hall of Fame" coach half this board slobbers over.

I question his work ethic and organization/structure.

Any bets that D'Antoni is willing to take less pay than any of the other candidates?
Les offsetting his losses from McHale by cheaping it up with MikeyD??

How about hiring both D'Antoni and van Gundy? They can split the offensive and defensive coaching duties, like Rivers and Thibodeau with the Celtics a while back.

It probably would be a powder keg waiting to be lit, but it sure would be entertaining.

I honestly don't get the hype over Vogel, people act like he's the next HOF coach or something. He did a middling job with a team that middling success. I'm not sure you can argue that he made that team any better or any worse than they were.

I'd prefer JVG over MDA, but I don't think Vogel is going to come here and turn this team into a contender or anything.

    I'd prefer Messina over both...

    His roster was largely trash..

Which is what we currently have minus Harden:roll eyes:

If Morey could maximize the talent around Harden, Vogel could also maximize his defensive prowess with an elite scorer

He took over a middling Pacer team from Jim O'Brien in 2010 that started out 17-27 and got them into the playoffs. After that, he's taken his team to the Eastern Conference Finals twice, 2nd round once, and a first round exit this year. I hardly call that "middling success".

Hope we could get a serious defensive-mind assistant, or we will be the same as last season laughing stock.

One day the coach is MDA , the next day is JVG . Two absolutely different styles . I fear that Alexander and Morey have no idea of what they want for the future of our team. Totally disappointing!

I always thought this was the most likely choice given James Harden's brand of Garbageball.

Didn't they have over 15 candidates???

MDA is the best of 15?

    Jesus I can't believe this...

Rockets could have candidates, doesn't mean anyone wants it.
