The Knicks were looking pretty good until Melo showed up. Mike D had people thinking Felton was a good pg. Unfortunately Melo did show up and he ruined that franchise. As far as the Lakers go, that team was a dumpster fire before Mike was even offered the job. I'm not saying I want Mike but I do think he has gotten a bad wrap. Melo and Howard destroyed his career.
MDA offense could be better than Golden States offense? Hell nooooooooooo. The only way you could beat Golden State is Tough Defense. This is why we needs JVG back!!!!!!!!!!!!
Les needs to let Morey do his job. Otherwise it's not fair for Les to complain about the team. Les interfering with the Lin thing, the coaches - all these decisions and not letting Morey be a GM. Les doesn't know jack about basketball.
People's perceptions of him as a coach derive solely based on how he handled himself with the media back then. Nobody knows what he's really like in practices or when he's trying to relate to players... I'd venture to guess he's much more like THIS guys on a regular basis than he is the guy who's short-lipped and very stand-offish in media interviews. Hell, back when he was with the Rockets, there was an article about how he put on a dunking display after practice one day.... albeit the goals were lowered to around 7 feet... but he made sure nobody mentioned that.
I agree with your point in principle. But do we really, objectively expect the person who owns the team not to be actively involved in decisions as important as this?
I agree with others that JVG will be different this time around. Not that I remember too much but I seem to recall that JVG was supppper tired and stressed out by the media pressure. But now that he has been apart of the media for so long I think he will act completely different when dealing with them. Maybe someone can dig up an old interview when he was coaching to see if this is a valid presumption.

Mike Brown. Among others in different sports. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2013/04/notable_coaches_and_managers_w.html
Just using exclamation points does not necessarily make your post better!!!!!!! We understand you without them!!!!!
Just hire jvg and make MDA the highest paid assistent in the NBA. Probelm solved Les. Put your money were your mouth is. The team would get what they need in JVG and you get that offensive Guru in MDA. That would easily be the best coaching one two punch in the entire league. I hope and pray that's what there talking about to mike. Throw 6 mil a year out to both give JVG 4 and MDA 2 and let's get the offseason rolling.
