Like taking the scene from near the beginning of "The Fugitive" and watching it one frame every half hour for three weeks.

Yeah except that we don't get to jump off the train at the last minute like Harrison Ford got to do.

If you were to ask what's the number thing you would like the Rockets to get it right, 99% would say defense. If that is the case, then hiring JVG is a no-brainer.

Then why continue to bug him about it? How many times does he have to say that as much as he'd like to, he can't break a confidence?

What validation? Absent "validation" from your "sources" why should I assume that you have any? I haven't seen a reason to think you're an insider, 'holic. And so what? You obviously know a lot about basketball. That's reason enough to read your posts. Yet you seem to have a desire to be seen as something more. Instead of thumping your chest in advance about your "insider" status absent an obvious reason to do so that I can see, and perhaps I missed it (I don't have a dog in this hunt), why not post what you know and then leave it to time to prove whether your "sources" were right? Instead, you seem to seek out conflict so you can argue about something. It gets tiresome.

No idea why this thread was derailed; oh wait...I've seen this movie before and some familiar user names. No bashing aelliott please. Long time posters deserve respect.

bballholic/jopat/whateverhisnameis was right on the money with one thing: no one trading for Ty Lawson until he made the last year of his deal unguaranteed. I hadn't read or seen that anywhere else, and then it happened. He was also right about Whiteside becoming a stud.

I enjoy hearing his hot takes (especially when it deals with the cap/contracts), but it's unfortunate that he has to antagonize everyone while expressing them.

No doubt JVG will get the defense right. One of my favorite JVG sayings is "This is a make or miss league, many games are decided by 1 or 2 shots". With that said well still need to find a few shooters.

If JVG isn't the pick I think K. Sampson should get a good look. Our defense was good until he left.

Here is the post that lit some of you up.

All I was trying to do here was to validate the media reports about Van Gundy that some of you were questioning whether they had accurate Indio or were just making up bs. This insider info from them was actually known by at least one poster here before they knew it. He trusted me and told me. I kept it to myself. He also told me more than just this. I have kept that to myself as well except for sharing it with 2 people whom I trusted wouldn't light up the board with it. That's how you stimulate the flow of insider info. What some of you guys are doing here hinders the flow of insider info.

There's actually more known right now than what the national media guys are scooping. But there's no way I'm gonna put it up here for you guys to crap on. Keep screwing yourselves.

After this, Batman jumped in picking up on aelliotts funny business, not realizing that aelliott was lying (joking around), and that I hadn't blabbed anything nor revealed any sources. Good old Batman. Love him but he jumps to conclusions and goes off to easy.

    His post:

I responded back and goaded him. Probably shouldn't have done it. But Batman should understand that if he's gonna dish it he's gotta take it.

    My response to him:
So instead of just laughing and enjoying the friendly joust Batman gets all fired up and comes back with this:

He's like the kid in school that doesn't know how to laugh and jostle around with the rest of the kids. He's that guy. Gets all fired up about every comment. I wished he wouldn't do that and just laugh about things once in a while. The tussle over Terrence back there was both fun and funny. What's wrong with laughing about it?

Nothing since a couple days ago. But there is more info that was given that remains unposted. And right now isn't the time to share it since everybody is on pins and needles with their retorts.

I'll give you this. Need to root for the Warriors. Van Gundy is the clear choice at present. Doesn't matter that they haven't formally interviewed him. They've had an ongoing interview with him over the past 9 years. And Les does respect him very much, especially how Van Gundy handled his dismissal and how Van Gundy has been towards the organization since then. Van Gundy is the choice right now. But that could change. Put it together.

Deck, this drivel isn't worth responding to if you can't read my other posts. Quit taking yourself and Batman so seriously. People still call me Jopat. I don't care. Why don't you get on your high horse about that? I haven't used that username in years. But they still throw it out there because they think it bothers me. You never go off about that. But if I tease Batman you jump in to defend him. Get over yourself already.

I have no desire to be seen as anything here. I come here because there are some very quality posters here and there is no better Rockets basketball forum at present. I enjoy reading good basketball stuff and having discussion with knowledgeable posters and insiders who do come here. That's all. If you don't like my stuff or don't believe what I say, hit the ignore button or don't respond.

But don't try to deny me the opportunity to correspond with posters that I like to correspond with just because my correspondence doesn't strike your fancy. Use your ignore button.

    Ciao for now.

Unless they did this with the explicit intent for you specifically to leak it, this feels like justification for breaking confidence. Honestly, did you tell the people you trusted to tell some other people who told some other people that got back on the board and then it traced back to you and the guy that told you? Why did he just "leak" it himself if he wanted/thought it could be leaked?

Personally, I miss Doc's cryptic messages.

I've been waiting nine years for his return. A few more months will be okay. Hopefully, JVG will finish up with ABC at next season's Christmas Day game, say his goodbyes, then join the Rockets in Jan '17.

Lol, Rockets need a coach right now, not Jan 2017.

I think he will be hired this week.
