Its not about picking him, I doubt Sanders would consider... Also Warren is one of the most intelligent people in this country, if you're not a fact hating neocon.
I heard she was very difficult to work with and nobody at the white house liked her. I think Sanders would take it - otherwise he is irrelevant going forward.
A Clinton/Sanders ticket would possibly qualify as the oldest presidential ticket in US history. I'd prefer Clinton/Warren, myself. Besides, she's an actual Democrat.
Warren at 66 isn't that young either. Many Minnesotans are holding up Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar as choices. Klobuchar is only 55 and also goes with the idea of a ground breaking campaign and presidency. Franken is 64 but many feel he could go toe to toe with Trump when it came to sharp and entertaining attacks.
How relevant are VPs typically? It would give him a chance of being President I suppose, but that would be very unlikely.
Yes it is sad that we've come to this point in presidential politics. but given what happened in the Republican primary attacks and how much they grab people's attention is a part of this campaign.
Franken, was funny. Hey I remember getting a signed book from him before he became a president. I remember when he was on TV helping change public opinion. . He then became a senator who for whatever reason that no one has ever heard from again. I guess he occasionally makes some news in Minnesota?
Senators are more relevant than vice presidents. Vice presidents support the president. VP Sanders would either be incredibly frustrated that he has to promote Clinton policies he hates or he'll be the worst VP ever, constantly undermining the President.
It is stuff like this that makes me think that Hillary and her insiders (not her defenders on this forum) are basically Hillary or bust. You can't just expect to treat younger Bernie supporters like this and expect them to switch to working or voting for Hillary. They have not have had their expectations beaten down by supporting Clintonian-Obama type liberals whose greatest victories are triangulating, talking about grand bargains ith the GOP to cut social security COLAs, passing things like deregulation for banks, the Crime Bill, NAFTA, Romney Care (known as Obamacare) and losing the House and Senate but less slowly by putting in conservative Dems who support the GOP half the time etc. +++++++++ http://www.salon.com/2016/05/16/wha...ders_supporters_are_fed_up_and_rightfully_so/ What the hell just happened in Nevada? Sanders supporters are fed up — and rightfully so
[Premium Post] I'm obviously not a lib, but if I were, I'd vote for Bernie Sanders. At least he speaks his mind and is authentic. Hillary represents everything that is wrong with politics. She's corrupt, she changes positions on issues after public opinion shifts and doesn't lead the change (like Bernie tries to do), she obviously is not transparent with the public (look at the email fiasco), and she prioritizes her own power over all else. The right thing for her to do would be to step aside, and not risk the indictment of a Presidential candidate, and allow Bernie -- who polls better in the general election anyhow -- to run. She is selfishly trying to hang in the race to the detriment of her own party! For gawd's sake, the woman is under criminal investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for violating the Espionage Act. This is unprecedented and historically significant! Democratic voters supporting her could be handing the election to President Trump if she is indicted between now and November. Why take that risk, libs? WHY
Its the same reason why we ask about you voting for trump. If you're talking about lying...the guy is a pathological liar. He won't even release his tax returns and has been audited repeatedly. "I'm self funding my campaign"---well that didn't last. He's been a phony on every issue from that start, and mostly because you guys are so gullible. And before you ask I've never voted democrat before. I don't like Hillary as you said, but shes a competent liar and corrupt politician as opposed to an incompetent buffoon who lies so often he doesn't see the difference anymore. You can't be a conservative and claim to uphold conservative principles while supporting Trump at the same time. Dude is just as left as Hillary and is showing now.
This reminds me of the last episode of Red, White and Blue. David A. Jones said he was tired of talking about Trump and gave a direct question to the two liberal guests about the Philadelphia convention. Both of them just went on about what Trump would do in Cleveland. They couldn't help their little selves.
Why would it matter if someone is authentic if they are authentically rude, authentically undiplomatic and authentically unsuited for public office? a question for another thread I guess.
"Ralph Nader: Trump’s Done Some Good, Clinton’s Winning By ‘Dictatorship’ " http://www.usnews.com/news/articles...good-hillary-clintons-winning-by-dictatorship When you're the presumptive democratic nominee and Ralph Nader prefers Trump over you....
I think you are applying your own interpretation to the blurb. Destroying the entrenched power structure of the GOP is good. Shattering the requirements of perceived moral purity for candidates opens up the races to people with flaws but competency, resisting the democratic party power structure is more democratic. But I can't imagine Nadar would actually support Trump.
I highly doubt Franken goes anywhere. He seems content to just keep doing his thing in the Senate. Klobuchar potentially could run but who knows she might rather be the attorney general instead of VP.
