I heard on the radio that Shaka wouldn't take an interview unless he was being offered the job. Not sure how true that is.
I don't see the big deal with batman having lunch with Morey. I think it's cool. Wished he could share more info. But I'm sure he can't share everything he hears and know without ruining the relationship. I kinda know a little something about how that goes. I was simply offering this board some sense of validation to the Van Gundy rumors. And I'm not the only one. There are several posters in this thread giving you closeted inside info without stating it as inside info. And there's been closeted insider info posted on this site prior to today about van gundy that has gone unmentioned and even besmirched. Some of you guys have no clue how many insiders are dwelling here among you. And you like to just make disparaging comments when somebody vouches for the accuracy of info while you are questioning the validity of reporters who get paid to report news and rumors they hear. Why don't you wake up and enjoy the fact that this info was already available before today and promote more insider info being dished to you early instead of attacking the messengers?
I am not surprised by this. JVG has been playing homer for the past 9 years always saying positive things about the Rockets in the media - he's been angling for this for 9 years. Well Jeff, congrats - you're brown nosing is getting you back to the Titanic

Pretty much. The interview to him is pretty much just a formal meeting to accept the job. But as I said not sure how true it is.
If the coach search goes on for a few more weeks, I'm going to assume that JVG is the choice - the fact he is calling the playoff games and is under contract to broadcast probably doesn't allow him to accept/announce an offer in season. I can't see any other reason why the Rockets would wait weeks anyway - no better coaches are going to lose their job in a few months so this is their pool for better or worse...

I just cringe at the thought of ESPN & TNT using any excuse to show the replay of JVG holding back his players from that fight ages ago- just because he is a coach for the rockets. JVG wouldn't be the best face for the ROX. On the other hand...Sam Cassel is respectable, was a player & a Rocket! . .

yes. He is one of the Bucks writers, who lives in a small city outside Milwaukee writes for a small newspaper and barely even knows how to use twitter. Also in 10 years he has broken about 2 stories. He makes 10+ stories a month. Our insider has told us that ppl from the Bucks organisation make fun of him.
Only here would a thread about JVG turn into an argument over who does and doesn't have Rockets insider access. This entire process of finding a new head coach is akin to watching a slow motion train wreck happen - a VERY slow motion train wreck.
