Best show on television by far but I do love to nitpick this show. I agree the scene with Dany was cheesy. I thought in order to be a Khal you had to be the greatest Doth'raki warrior. Like Khal Drogo had hair so long because he never lost a battle. It was his fighting skill that helped him command respect among the rest of the Doth'raki. I would presume the same of the Khal's present there. You're telling me not even one of them would choke her out and take her with them? Or they wouldn't have any sort of sharp objects to break through thin walls? Since when does fire make warlords go full r****d?
Was the hut doused with lighter fuel? My roommate and I were dumbfounded at that scene on how fast the fire was spreading.
I could live with that, so long as I keep my internet lusting classy and just don't think about it too much.
I was thinking they set it all up for her, by spreading flammable liquid in there before the meeting. DD
Exactly. Instead of people nitpicking try and look at reasons why it could happen and you will enjoy the show a lot more. Not to mention the fire looked like it was being spread or ignited by something else. The real thing is the Khals not fighting back... If it were me I would just jump through or over the first initial fires. I am pretty sure they didn't have weapons on them though as that was mentioned in the episode. Maybe Dothraki are scared of fire and magic and thats why they became afraid of her. Also, no one has mentioned why did Mormont get his ass handed to him so bad? Does the greyscale make him a lot weaker?
Probably because he's old, exhausted, sick and was going up against a big, strong, younger guy who fights/kills for a living.
Not worried about the Khals not fighting they were scared and trying to escape.....probably in fear of the fire and her. DD
Maybe, he has traveled a lot and the guy was traveling with did give him a hard time for being tired. Also, that dothraki was big and it was a hand to hand fight where as Jorah is a sword fighter
They highlighted how old Jorah is. It's not a stretch to see how he'd get beat in a fist fight by a Dothraki warrior in prime physical shape.
Khals are great warriors. They're not afraid of a 100 lb girl. There's no reason they couldn't have beat her down but that option was never explored for plot armor reasons.
Normally, no, but a 100 lb girl who was on fire while laughing and while they were backed into a corner with fire all around them is a different scenario. Not many rush into flames in order to fight someone.
Rewatching this scene it's pretty clear what happened. 1. The hut isn't made out of straw but wood with a straw roof. 2. The fire lighting the hut comes from oil, not wood or charcoal. 3. The Khals are initially shocked when Danny grabbed and held onto the metal torches or whatever. 4. The oil from decorative lighting spills across the floor when Danny knocks 2 or 3 of them over in the Khal's direction. Somethings the show has to gloss over, but rewatching that scene a few times you realize Danny did a good job trapping them in a corner and catching them off guard.
And not many people walk into a blade pointed at them, but Khal Drogo sure did. Dany wasn't standing in fire, she had a radius of about 5 feet of clear ground. If the Khals were afraid of jumping through a little fire, what else were they gonna do? Just stand around in the flames happily?
Yes, it's not normal for a person to not be burning alive in a situation like that, even in their world.
I was half expecting Daario to elbow Jorah right before they knelt and say "Yeah I've tapped that..." Kudos to Jorah for stealing another glance after kneeling.
Athough, if you recall, Dany fixed the two dudes with her haughty glare. Jorah was already bowing. Daario was still looking but she stared him down, as if to say, "I don't care if you have f***ed me.....you kneel, too. You all kneel."
Jorah is a trained Westerosi swordsman. If he fought the Dothraki with a broadsword he could have handled himself probably, but in a brawl? He had nothing for the Dothraki. He's old, beat to hell and just spent whoever knows how long in the desert with without much in the way of supplies. As for the fire thing, I didn't understand how it it accelerated like that. They made it seem like she could just control it almost. I mean geez, if those things falling over put the whole temple up that is a pretty nasty fire hazard! I didn't mind the Khals being scared. If someone could make a bowl of fire attack you I think you might be scared too.
