I'm just bracing for the LMJ back to DL move that would typify this season... That's all.

Let's just try to get to .500 first....we need a 18-9 run....that's winning the next 6/7 series....does not look good with the upcoming teams we are playing.

Or... STOP READING THE QUOTE!!...... You have full control to not readitlikeitis

You're probably scared you'll reply to the rebuttal unknowingly and end up agreeing with him.

Many posters who argue have agreed with him many times.

    Some quick thoughts:

I was at today's game. Not sure if the tv showed it, but our players just don't look happy. They're pressing. Gomez and Springer looked PISSED at each other. Not a lot of camaraderie in the dugout...players took forever to get into the on deck circle, like they didn't even want to hit.

The team looked pissed when Gogo dropped the popup in the sun in like the 2nd. Even when balls were being ripped, our players would just stand there with their hands on their hips. Looked disinterested a lot, odd for s team that calls itself "hustletown"

just curious if you're seeing that more objectively, or relative to last year's team that seemed SO tight, esp. with Conger keeping everyone loose. Are they the 2016 Rockets right now, or just not quite the 2015 Astros (morale-wise)?

after further evaluation, I think we're still a good team just cannot get out of their damn way. Those are more painful and frustrating. Played fun baseball until hinch and gomez shenanigans, what could have been 3-1 turns to 1-3.

Didn't get a single good start from the pitching in 4 games. Plenty of timely hitting, but that only takes you so far.

Shore up the starting pitching first, then try to get the bottom of the order guys to pull their heads from their asses, lastly ensure that Gregerson, and the rest of the bullpen, is prepared for the regular/heavy load they may need to bear to get this team just back to .500 (Luke is starting to show some worsening peripherals with more regular work).

this red sox team would score 5 runs on 2005 roy oswalt. They're just all hitting a hot streak. Can't give them extra outs.

That is a team that lacks leadership. We need a manager that is going to be the leader of the team, a guy that will hold accountable all of the mistakes this team makes and be better on game decisions.

A manager that players will follow as they have a young team with no leadership.

K tried to do it with a comment a few days ago but you can't be a leader and be one of our worse starter.

LZ: Woke up to a text Saturday from someone who works in an executive sports position: "I can't believe the Houston & national print media isn't on to what a fraud the Astros GM is."

Not sure how one develops a reputation... without ever having been a GM of an MLB team prior to this one.

Luhnow's only track record is that he can rebuild minor league farm system... and many of the players from the system do go on to productive MLB careers (and nothing would convince you otherwise based on his tenure in Houston, thus far).

As far as being the one to ultimately execute trades, and "give away talent", Mozeilak still had the final say when he was at St. Louis... and the Astros have only been buyers for one year?

Of course Luhnow's overall performance as a GM of the MLB team is still under some scrutiny... and nobody should be giving him a final grade yet on the rebuild. However, the rest of those tweets simply sound like gossip/click-bait without any valid evidence or history to back it up.... or its just another former disgruntled St. Louis Cardinals employee.

Luhnow has had a couple trades that look like we're on the losing end, but I think it's a pretty big leap to then say he's handing away talent and he's a fraud. And I don't see any huge trades this year if our record continues to be abysmal, might as well see what our prospects turn into.

It's not like Luhnow is the first GM to give up prospects for proven MLB talent. If Gomez or Gattis or Giles (or Kazmir) are performing then no one is hyper-analyzing these trades. For whatever reason, all of the major leaguers that Luhnow has acquired via trade have had severe dropoffs once they get to Houston.

This is not meant to excuse Luhnow as he has to make these trades with this possibility in mind and the exodus of prospects may ultimately result in him losing his job down the road. But I don't think even the most pessimistic GM in the league could have predicted Gomez or Giles performing THIS poorly.

knew Luhnow was a fraud. He's another Morey except Morey has a more proven track record. To think I thought he would make another another St. Louis Cardinals. He just gives away talent and its showing.

How did you know it? What position was Morey in before being the Rockets GM that led you to believe he's any more experienced than Luhnow was when taking over the Astros GM role?

Why is Luhnow only getting panned for the latest trades and not being celebrated for having the prospects to trade away...and still having a very strong farm system?

luhnow should use that to his advantage and get something for singleton.

no one saw gomez falling from earth and into a blackhole, may be the mets? but that was an injury thing.

Right. It was pretty widely believed that his down 2015 was due to the lingering hip injury. What's happened is Chuck-Knoblauch-forgetting-how-to-throw like...except Gomez has completely forgotten how to play baseball all together.
