Since we have started winning? Starting with the Kazmir trade, which trade would you say was good? I realize it's a hindsight 20/20 type of deal but still.
He's been getting heat too. Unlikely to see as much in the "in-game" threads. I don't really care about the trades he's lost. Sucks, but it's part of the business. They were made in effort to try and bolster the big league team and get closer to a championship. I'm all for those. He's won some trades too. Wasn't too long ago that we were all deifying him for the Cosart trade. The trades he loses wouldn't be/feel so devastating if any of us had any confidence that they'd simply spend money on FA's in the offseason, since they haven't to any appreciable degree thus far. Not doing so reduces the margin for error on trades considerably. That's what unnecessarily makes be the lost trades hurt more than they should. They need to spend money, and they need to shuffle the dog**** out of the lineup quicker. It's inexcusable that Gomez, Marisnick, Tucker, and Valbuena continue to play without bringing up some of the guys in AAA to see if they can do better.
Precisely his point. Ever since they began "sniffing success", trades have been awful. His "good" trades where when they were building/rebuilding. Fiers certainly helped us get into the playoffs last year And as horrible as Gomez is, he was actually good in September last year in the final playoff push That trade was about getting into the playoffs last year, and it helped And on the Giles trade, to be fair that story is far from being told. I know no one wants to hear that right now, but Giles has the stuff, has looked a lot better lately, and we have him for years
Very unlikely he would have been signed here for this year anyway, so wouldn't make any difference for right now Would have loved to have him last year though, would have been a great compliment to our lineup But not likely to be here now either way
The Gomez trade made no sense. Only correct trade was for a top closer. Gomez was traded to the Mets and they did not give much, and then voided because he was injured. With that we still made the trade and gave a lot of talent. The Giles trade, another trade I disagree because I thought we have too much, is killing us right now. Also I was in disagreement on Hinch. What has he done on his career as a manager? A great 1 1/2 months? All analytical numbers said we should had done better last year, win the division and more wins. Same numbers this year said we should win the division. Right now we are a very bad team and looks like all games we make mental errors and pluses are unaccountable for mistakes. We need a change at the helm of we want to win. If we want to develop is ok to keep Hinch
What if the Astros were managed by Jackie Bradley Jr.? "I don't care if [David Ortiz] is 100 years old. I'm not letting him beat me at 100," Bradley said. You'll make a great manager Jack!
Wow I hadn't seen this before. So Hinch has a rep of sucking as a manager with a lot of baseball people and Luhnow hired him anyway? Luhnow just wanted a damn puppet as a coach to control and implement his analytical approach. With the Hire of Hinch and the bad trades over the last year or so, Luhnow hasn't done very well at all.

Marwin 5 game hitting streak and not saying today. Is ok, I don't care anymore as Hinch is terrible and will continue to make mistakes after mistakes. And like I said yesterday, I bet Gomez will play. Hinch must go
