people keep ragging on Dwight due to his shortcomings in Houston... wait and see, Dwight will be a beast next year - free of the drama and narcissism that have become a hallmark of our franchise....
Like most of you, I'm ready for Dwight to go. Only thing is I would prefer a S&T deal, if possible, as opposed to him leaving for nothing.
I don't think anyone can find a team that's dumb enough to give up promising young players and/or picks just so that they can give a past-his-prime center a max contract.
I'm talking about a Greg Monroe type where a team like Milwaukee might be intrigued enough to essentially swap players in the hopes Dwight still has some elite level play left in him.
You're assuming this hasn't been tried before and dwight wasn't resistant. Flashback to not running PnR with Nash. Maybe he's matured and accepted his limitations more, but pretending he doesn't have a larger ego than Tyson is a little far fetched.

dwight is what he is, i'f like to keep him if he takes a pay cut... but he is no longer a max player...

that's actually not rare to see...that's all they own in athletic gear, it seems..until the next team issues them something. I still remember chandler's dad wearing rockets gear, after CP had already left..lol.
I wondered about this very player. Milwaukee might want to otherwise free up cap space. God knows Monroe and Dwight wouldn't go well together. Although I would route Monroe elsewhere for a player just drafted in the top 10 (New Orleans?) Of course, Milwaukee could just trade Monroe separately and then sign Dwight.
MacMahon: Dirk would have some reservations. Think about the horror stories Dirk's heard from Nash & Terry. Mavs aren't interested in a max contract. I'm not sure Dallas is at the top of his list. He's intrigued by Orlando & Charlotte. (Parsons) Message he's getting is we aren't trying to pay you max. Playing with Dirk 3 years ago wasn't appealing to Dwight. Why now? There is a relationship with Parsons. Parsons doesn't know if he'll be back so he isn't recruiting him to Dallas. You want to be involved, what does that mean? You need to put me on the block & run the offense through me, that's a problem. If you want to run a bunch of PnRs, absolutely, Dallas will accommodate you there. If you think it's you on the block & 4 around the perimeter, nope, not happening. He could be a better version of Tyson Chandler. He's capable of being a great rim protector, he's still one of the best rebounders. Offensively, is it setting picks & rolling hard, catching 4-5 lobs a game....if he comes to Dallas and goes the way it should, he's getting touches rolling to the rim. It's not dropping you on the block.
