I've only played the first 5 minutes so far and I've said holy sh-- about 10 times already. Naughty Dog has outdone themselves technically and graphically
Went through setting up the system this morning, said it needed to download a 5 gb update. Fine whatever. I left the house then came back and system is in a reboot loop. Tried resetting the system, Sony said just take it back to the store and get a replacement so here I am waiting for the update to download again.
I rented doom for my XB1, good game but I feel like it will get old and boring real soon, glad I just rented it, think I will be better off spending the $60 on uncharted. Anybody else know that redbox does midnight rental releases? Lol I was shocked to see they had doom available last night, pretty awesome.
I have both consoles, I said i'm I think i'm going to get UC4 over doom(which is on both consoles). I'm in the right place.
Lol I was just messing with you. From what I've seen so far, Doom doesn't look like it'll give me much "replayability". Probably have to play it first before I write it off.
Yeah go rent it from Redbox, I used a promo code and got it for $2, its fun but I'd only feel comfertable paying like $20 for it, will wait for it to go on sale if I end up getting it.
It will probably be 20-30 dollars after a month. I played the beta on Doom. Was kinda fun. Felt like an old school shooter. After a while I suck at PvP tho
I think the built in map editor and community they are trying to build with it could address this. It seems pretty legit even on consoles.
Doom has a fairly short campaign, if you can find a weekend to lock your self in your room and play it for 8-9 hours (4 hours per day) then I'd highly recommend renting it. You can knock it out and experience the whole game in 2 days for just 6 bucks instead of 65 lol.
I was honestly expecting a twist at the end of uncharted 4. No monsters, no blue people or zombies. Still, great game. 9/10. I do wish games like these weren't so linear and were longer.
Just finished Uncharted 4. Wow, what a game. Naughty Dog does it again. 5/5. Spoiler Was expecting Sam to end up being the Villain.
Man you guys sure are raving about Uncharted 4, I was looking at the reviews and was puzzled to see this http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end/user-reviews From nearly 4 thousand user reviews on meta-critic, people only gave it a 7.9 Anyways to follow up on DOOM (which no one on here seems cares about lol) I've decided to buy it. I rented it for 3 days and couldn't find the time to beat it, made it about halfway through the campaign. When I first started it, it was pretty meh, but the farther I got in the campaign the more it picked up and by the time I was returning it I was really enjoying the game, which I totally didn't expect. I thought the opposite was going to happen, that the game would get boring and fizzle out, but the intensity really picked up and I actually look forward to re-playing some of missions after I beat it, and trying out the multiplayer. No way in hell I would pay for full price for it though, thankfully game-stop is doing a great deal right now with 50% bonus credit on trade in's towards Doom, I'll bite and trade in a stack of old games that I don't play anymore at all (mostly 360/ps3 games).
I had the opposite experience. Half way through Uncharted I thought this would be one of the best games I've ever played if it kept it up. Unfortunately it peaked at the Madagascar car chase chapter. By the end it was just solid, a very good game, but a bit anticlimactic. I liked the pacing a lot on a first playthrough when I am eager to see what will happen next, but can see it easily becoming a drag if I replay it. Particularly the "platforming" sections. That is in "" because it is basically just a hit X and move on with zero skill involved in any of the climbing, which again I didn't mind at first, but when it comes to replayability it will be a hassle. Good thing they introduced the rope because at least there is some timing involved in that. Doom on the other hand is sort of the opposite. It forgoes the cinematic storytelling and is all about fun. I can see a ton more replayabiltiy with the different difficulty levels and weapon/armor upgrade paths. I think both games are overall good. If you are looking for a critically acclaimed cinematic experience go for Uncharted. If you are looking for flat out fun and blowing **** up go for Doom. Edit: We posted at the same time and now I see your followup, glad you kept Doom. I paid full price for it because I want to support games like this and vote with my wallet. After 10 years I am tired of the next COD or BF clones.
Has anybody else experienced their Apple headphones not working with the PS4 controller after the most recent update? It seems like a few people online have also had problems where the microphone no longer works.
Will the PS4.5 or Neo be able to play 4K HDR blu rays? I'm a PC guy but if the next playstation can play 4K blu rays, then i'd like it for that + exclusives like Uncharted. Worth the wait?
